Beast Mastery Hunter Rotation
The goal of the Beast Mastery Hunter rotation is to use your cooldowns as much as possible. Since you are at the mercy of mostly passive Focus regeneration, you need to make sure you don't overspend your Focus by casting
too much. Sometimes the only way to achieve this is to stop casting entirely while you wait for your cooldowns to become available. Look at
as a way to prevent yourself from Focus capping rather than an ability that needs to be spammed all the time.
is Beast Mastery's signature attack and should be used as often as possible.
is also high priority, summoning a temporary beast to attack your target and generating a small amount of Focus. It's possible to have more than one Dire Beast active at a time, and their Focus regeneration does stack. This can occur with
procs, which reset the cooldown of Dire Beast. This proc can only be utilized if Dire Beast is already on cooldown, which is why you should never delay it. Additionally, every time you cast Dire Beast the cooldown of
is also reduced.
(it's worth delaying Aspect of the Wild to use during Bestial Wrath)
if at least one Dire Beast is active and Bestial Wrath is active
(it's OK to delay this 20ish seconds to use it during Bestial Wrath)
if Focus > 90
Note: Be conservative with your Focus spending to ensure
can always be cast on cooldown and that you enter
with full Focus, where that Focus can best be utilized.
is not active or will fall off in the next second
if there are 5+ targets
if there are 2-4 targets
if Focus > 90 and
is already active
Note: Similar to single target rotation rules, except you want to try keep
active whenever there is more than one target.
is still a priority though. However, once you are facing 5+ targets, you can drop
entirely (assuming there isn't a need for priority target DPS).
Exception to the > 90 Focus
IGenerally you can ignore this rule
as your goal there is to cast as many
s as possible in that window. Ideally, you should enter Bestial Wrath with full Focus and exit it with no Focus.
When using the
talent in the Beast Mastery Hunter rotation, your goal should be to extend your pet's attack speed buff stacks as long as possible. In order to best do this, try to only cast
when the attack speed buff is about to fall off your pet (there is a weakaura to track this in the
of the guide) or when you're already sitting on 2 charges of Dire Frenzy. With the second charge added to this ability in Patch 7.2.5, it's a lot easier to manage these stacks because you can sit for a few seconds on a single charge without worrying about wasting it. The longer you can keep your pet at 2 or 3 stacks, the better you will perform in the long run.

Beast Mastery's primary cooldown. Increases all damage you and your pet deal by 25% for 15 seconds. It has a 90 second cooldown, but this cooldown is reduced every time you cast
. The damage bonus can be further increased with the talent
In most cases it is best to use this cooldown as soon as possible. If you hold onto it for too long, there is a risk of losing more potential
s over the course of an entire fight due to the cooldown reduction mechanic of
. There are always exceptions to this rule, i.e. a high priority target is about to spawn.
If Bestial Wrath only has a few seconds left on its cooldown, and
is available, it's best to hold off on
until after you cast Bestial Wrath to get the most out of the cooldown reduction.
Ideally, you should enter Bestial Wrath with full Focus and exit it with no Focus.
A cooldown to temporarily increase the Focus regeneration of you and your pet, granting you 10 Focus per second. It also increases critical strike chance by 10% for the duration. It has a 2 minute cooldown and its duration can be increased with the
This cooldown is best when stacked with

artifact trait makes this cooldown more potent. During Aspect of the Wild, both your main pet and Hati will deal additional Nature damage to all targets in a 8-yard cone in front of them.
As of Patch 7.2.5,
also reduces the global cooldown by 0.2 seconds for the duration, allowing you to spend your excess Focus easily.
Artifact cooldown that causes all of your pets to deal heavy nature damage to their target over 8 sec. 1 min cooldown.
Best used during
, so if Bestial Wrath is coming up soon (say in the next 20 seconds or so), you should hold onto it. Use your best judgement here -- you can hold out longer if it won't result in fewer total uses over the course of the whole boss fight.

to get the most benefit. If you have 2 charges of
available, cast both of them first.

Try to line up as many targets as possible before casting.
Know when to use it. If the targets are about to be moved by the tank or something else, hold onto it until you know they will be standing still. Communicate with your tank when you use it as it's a very potent cooldown and should not be wasted by targets being removed from the
Similar to the old
, this cooldown deflects all attacks and reduces damage taken by 30% for 8 sec. The damage reduction portion comes into play for DoTs already applied or boss mechanics that are not deflected. You are unable to attack while it is active. It has a 3 minute cooldown.
Your panic button. About to die? Hit this!
Oftentimes in a raid or dungeon this ability is only used to block the damage of a single attack. In those cases, it's best to have a separate macro setup that allows you to quickly remove it and get back to dealing damage after the attack has been blocked:
/cancelaura Aspect of the Turtle
The Titanstrike trait
turns it into moderate healing cooldown, and yes the heals granted from this trait will continue even if you remove
itself with the macro above.
Instantly heals you for 30% of your total health, and your pet for 100% of its health on a 2 minute cooldown.
Usually best to save for emergencies.
When soloing, it's a great defensive cooldown for your pet as it fully restores its health.
Yes, it's back in patch 7.1.5!
Throw a trap up to 40 yards away which will freeze (incapacitate) any enemy that stands on it for up to 1 minute. Any damage taken will break them out of the trap.
Useful for locking down enemies in difficult trash pulls or in PvP.
Yes, it's back in patch 7.1.5! It works the same as Ice Trap from Warlords of Draenor.
Throw a trap up to 40 yards away which will place a 8-yard radius pool of tar on the ground when triggered. Any enemy standing in the tar has their movement speed reduced by 50%.
Useful for controlling or kiting groups of enemies.
Grants a 90% movement speed increase for 3 seconds, followed by a 30% increase for another 9 seconds. 3 minute cooldown.
Cooldown reduced by 1 minute with the
. The Dash talent increases the duration by 3 seconds (for both the 90% and 30% components).
Helpful for getting out of a troublesome situation, but beware the long cooldown. You may need to hold onto it if you're assigned to do any boss mechanics that require lots of movement.
Instantly leap backwards on a 20-second cooldown.
Useful for quickly getting out of “fire on the ground” or related boss mechanics.
Turns into a movement speed cooldown with the
talent. Highly recommended.
To best use this ability, learn how to do the Jump-Disengage: Jump, spin your character around mid-air 180 degrees with your mouse, then use
. This will allow you to quickly leap forward without stopping your forward momentum.
Interrupts spell casting on a 24-second cooldown.
There is no travel time to this ability. The interrupt will be instant regardless of range.
Hunters often make good backup interrupters when there's either not enough melee to handle the job, or one of them makes a mistake. The longer cooldown just means we can't interrupt as often.
Drops all aggro and stops enemies from attacking you.
Helpful for emergency aggro drops, or surviving a wipe (
s love their low repair bills).
Be sure to pick up the
소환수 훈련 지침서: 죽은 체하기
in Sholazar Basin so you can have your pet also feign death when needed.
Redirects all of the
's threat to the targeted party or raid member (or your own pet) for 8 seconds.
Great ability for helping your tank pick up newly spawned adds in conjunction with
To make things easier, create a macro such as this to quickly misdirect. I like to make one for each of my tanks, but you can also use your focus target for it instead:
Slows the target's movement speed by 50% for 6 seconds.
Does not work on bosses. Will work on trash and some adds.
Reveals stealthed and invisible enemies in the targeted area.
Mostly used in PvP or for taming certain types of beasts, but occasionally finds use in revealing stealthed trash mobs.
