Who doesn't dispel UA? A little pinch and a silence, which of course is instantly dispelled by someone else.
I thought it was just me. I blazed through 1 to 60 on my first Horde alt, then stalled big time in Outland and Northrend. I'm now back on track to speed through 80 to 85.
I absolutely love the 1-60 leveling! ESP since I have all boa's and raf'd to make a vanilla raid team! I just run dungeons and it takes me about a day an half to 60. I love how they did the quest givers/drop downs for these 2 thumbs up! If they could implement this into the 60-80 content I'd be in heaven. Hell if they even extended the RAF benefits to level 70 I would soil myself!
UA dispel protection from the silence was a good thing until they added silences to the effects trinkets remove. Since that time you dot a target up, healer spams dispels, healer gets a tiny knick their hots will heal in two seconds and a silence the best will be able to remove near instantly. Making the damage something like the entire dot duration in one punch and maybe make its silence UNdispellable would be nice, though the last part is pretty much just wishful thinking.
Am I the only one who hates the new fast-tracked levelling? Sure, it can be tedious doing the same quests over again, but I'd have preferred the type of questing we see in BC and WOTLK just with -new quests- instead of the lightspeed on-rails system they have now.
The level 60-80 is rather boring, as there's only a few dungeons the dungeon finder will ever put you in;58-61 Ramps62-63 Blood Furnace64 Mana Tombs65-66 Auchenai Crypts67-68 Sethekk Halls69-71 Utagrde Keep72-73 Nexus74-76 Violet Hold + Drak'Tharon Keep 76-78 Violet Hold + Gundrak78-80 GundrakGranted, all levels do this "selective dungeons based on level" thing, but pre-60, it chooses from 5 or 6 dungeons, giving some form of randomization and just makes it more fun, not doing the same dungeon 15 times in a row, before finally getting something else.To give an example; On my rogue (59) to go from 50-59, I did 38 dungeons total (I keep tallies on most everything I do), so roughly 40 dungeons to go from 50-60 as I'm 59, and about 3/4 through. 1 or 2 dungeons depending on what I get next to ding. So far, in that span, I've hit Strat, Scholo, LBRS, UBRS, BRD, and Sunken Temple. Not in any specific order, but they still randomize. So in 10 levels, it randomizes, and will hit any of the previously mentioned. This makes it less boring, and less monotonous. Whereas while leveling my mage recently, I basically went from dungeon to dungeon, in order, with no randomization. Once I got into a new dungeon, I didn't see a different one until after I was done with that one. I basically consider them "dungeon brackets". The XP required is significantly higher, meaning you take longer to level, and you don't get nearly as much per dungeon as you would in the 14-60 dungeon leveling area. 14-40 takes one, maybe two dungeons. 40-60 takes two to three, sometimes four if you get the crappy BRD one where the boss is like.. two pulls in. in the +60 bracket, it takes six to ten dungeons just to level once, even in full Heirloom gear + level 6 guild (total of 45% bonus XP )what I'd like to see, is maybe change the level requirements of the dungeons to be raised or lowered, or both. This would give them some overlap, and let the dungeon finder pick from three of four dungeons instead of jsut giving the same one over and over again.
Well I'm glad they're at least having a look into it.Maybe they'll even take a look at some people's suggestions to make 60-80 leveling as fun as the preceding levels.
this fast tracked leveling is the problem. having deleted my european account recently, i decided to try the game from a different angle. i felt that having 3 level 85's to provide gold and boa equipment was just ruining levelling. so i deleted my euro wow accounts and started fresh on a us one. i currently have a level 42 and have observed a few changes both good and bad:1)the quest flow in the classic zones is much better now, you dont have those quest chains which would take you from one part of azeroth to another.2) in certain areas, the storylines are actually quite good, in particular silverpine forest.3) however i feel that levelling in classic zones seems to be designed to fast track ppl to 60 too quickly. it is barely 10 days since i created my US account, and as aforementioned i already have a 42(this is with 3hrs playing time per day). for comparison, back in classic, it could take 3 months or longer to get to 60.4) by fast tracking like this,(and keep in mind the xp quest reward from northrend zones has been increased by 25%) blizz is only going to make life troublesome later. for those of us who have alts and have been playing for years, yes, we are aware of the massive gap between levelling and making the transition to being a raider, but for new players who level thru the current system, when they ding 85 they are going to get a big reality check. you can level from 1 to 85 using just two buttons, but doing a cata hc in this manner will simply not work and will result in the person getting kicked.(pug hc's thru the lfd can be very hostile).in the race to get to 85, the fundamental skills that one will need are lost under the current system. it is like sending a high school graduate straight to an undergraduate degree programme at a university without the person having attended a college first which builds the foundation for the degree programme.(those of you who have been to uni will similarly say it is a huge transition from secondary education/high school).
Nah. I was actually thinking about making the Outlands and Northrend content a bit more...difficult.At the moment I think the final Vanilla dungeons have bosses that are actually stronger than bosses in Hellfire Ramparts or Blood Furnace, for instance, and the quests in Azeroth are more immersible; the mobs are more challenging.Although class guides would be nice, I suppose.
So, I had this nice rant... about people whining and how we shouldn't expect 60-70 (and even moreso 70-80) to be revamped just because 1-60 received an overhaul... and how 1-60 is really only a "fast-track" if you use Heirlooms, otherwise it probably just seems that way because Blizzard designed quests to flow more smoothly, so you are completing them faster, as well as making zones last for 5 levels instead of 10, so the scenery is changing more often.I also endorsed Enaer's comment, or the last few sentences anyway. But as we all know, Captcha is a . It deigned to not appear, then tell me I needed to pay attention to it after hitting submit. At that point my entire post was lost anyway.
I enjoyed 1-60 leveling more than 60-80 leveling even before the overhaul. What 1-60 lacked in storyline or the like, it made up for by giving me 3-4 zones to choose from at any given point. OL is both tedious and give you very little choice.
They are definitely doing one thing to fix outlands leveling. They are redoing Sithilis to where it will be a 58 to 62 zone. The biggest problem with outlands is that you ALWAYS have to do HP. The other change they should make is Blade Edge Mountains.. they should make that like a 61 to 64 zone. Honestly, with rested exp, dungeons and heirlooms, you only need about 2.5 zones to get to 68. I usually do HF, Zanger and then the Hemet quests in Nagrand, and that is enough.Northrend is fine. There are enough zones to jump around in. The could probably take an underused zone like Zul and lower it to 71 to 74 though.
