William continued his walk through Ironforge, pushing people away as he tried to not be swallowed by the fast moving crowd. Eventually he managed to get to the side of the huge crowd, standing in a doorway watching them all pass.
"What is with this city?" William muttered, shocked at how populated it was just from the streets it seemed. William turned around to see what he had chosen to stand in until the crowd passed, seeing that it was an inn. William walked foward, glancing around to see its features. The inn was relatively normal, nothing seemed that unusual to him and seemed like any other dwarven inn he's come across before.
"Can I get ye something laddy?" the dwarf behind the counter asked, who was constantly running a rag across his counter to try and keep it clean. William looked around the room to realize that there weren't that many people here, maybe six or seven at the most.
"Err.. no thanks, I'm just waiting for this crowd to pass" William said, now taking a seat.
"What? No non-customers are allowed in my inn!" the dwarf bellowed, a vein showing in his head. William sighed, taking out his coin pouch and looking in. He had fifty silver left, so it left him with the cheapest drink he could buy.
"What's something you have that costs next to nothing then" William said, walking towards the bar counter. The dwarf smiled, his expression of anger previously now fading away.
"You can buy my experimental drink, been testing it and now I need others to try it as well. It'll be twenty silver" the bartender said. William shook his head, taking out the coins and passing it to the bartender. He stared at the mug of odd ale the dwarf took out, watching it be filled up as foam formed at the top.
" 'ere you go lad" the dwarf said, sliding the cup to him. William took a gulp and then tasted the most fowl thing he couldn't even begin to describe. He spat out the drink, coughing and gagging from the taste.
"Hmmm... needs more hops" the dwarf said, going back to his counter. William gave the dwarf a look of disgust, but nothing more. He sat there for about twenty or so minutes, still waiting for the crowd to pass when he heard a whisper.
"Psst... come here.." the voice whispered, William turning around to see a gnome waving at him. William raised an eyebrow, looking around the room to see if he could have been talking to someone else. No one was in the direction of the gnome. William let out a deep and heavy sigh again, getting up and walking to the gnome, sitting down next to him.
"What?" William said, looking at the gnome's features. Like all gnomes, he was relatively short, had hair that was fading from brown to white, and his face was rather bright and smooth.
"I can see your future!" the gnome whispered, constantly twitching. He scanned the gnome again, realizing the gnome's hands and feet were twitching, along with his face.
"This gnome must be insane.." William thought.
"Ok.. what is it?" William, getting ready to walk out of the inn at this point the moment the gnome finished.
"There will be a release of bright fire everywhere around you! People will yell and you will free the leader! You will go to the ones of undeath in their lands and unlock the puzzle!" the gnome said, now standing on his seat hopping up and down.
"I need to go" William said, getting up and walking fast out of the inn to escape the insane gnome. The crowd was thinner now, and could be pushed past at least this time. He pushed his way to what was the entrance to a huge, guarded vault, hoping that maybe someone had directions since he really needed to get in and out of the crazy city.
A loud gasp was heard as people turned and pointed at the ceiling of the city, William turning around to see what was happening. In the distance a gyrocopter was burning up, flying along trying to make it to a safe spot to attempt and land. At the same time, a nearby gryphon with a box in its talons was flying through and saw the gyrocopter. The gryphon screeched at the sight, shaking the box violently as it turned and releasing a rain of small metal objects from the box.
The metal was flying near William one hit about fifteen yards away, exploding on impact.
"Bombs!" William thought, raising his wooden shield to help block the heat from the explosion as well as the shrapnel. The bombs landed left and right, exploding everywhere around and setting fires across the city square. People shouted and screamed in terror, trying to escape. William was surrounded by fire along with a dwarf who was in a hood, both beginning to be cooked alive.
"Hold on!" William yelled over the flames, picking the dwarf up and running through the flames. His skin was instantly seared, he could feel the heat burn it rather badly, but luckily not cooking him to a extreme level. The two emerged from the flames, William running for a few more yards and collasping, letting the dwarf go next to him. He layed there in pain, moaning from the damage and watching the dwarf stand up, brushing himself off as he turned and yelled for medics.
"Boy, you did a very brave thing" the dwarf said, removing his hood.
"The name is Magni, I'll see to it your kept safe" the dwarf said smiling, William blacking out.
