completing, unlocking the next part of the War Campaign. In this step of the campaign, Baine and Sylvanas face off.
Leading up to this cinematic, Baine takes pity on Derek Proudmoore, revived by Sylvanas Windrunner with the express purpose of being tortured and mind-controlled to return to Boralus and kill his family. In this cinematic, we see Jaina reunited with her long-lost brother, Derek Proudmoore, former commander of the legendary Third Fleet of Kul Tiras. Jaina is initial distrustful of Baine, sensing that Derek may be returned to her as a trap. She softens when Derek reveals that was Sylvanas' gruesome plan, but Baine was honorable and rescued him before he could be twisted. Baine knows the price he could pay for freeing Derek is death, but did it willingly, noting there is a sickness within the Horde.

Alliance Story Part 2
After we return to Boralus, Halford Wyrmbane mentions that Shaw has increased the number of SI:7 spies in Stormsong Valley, and sends us to check it out in
. We first need to complete a 1-day table mission,

We then report to Jaina in
. Jaina mentions that Shaw deployed a number of Alliance spies near Warfang Hold, but he hasn't checked in yet, so we report to Kelsey Steelspark in
. Kelsey is located at the mines near Warfang Hold.
Kelsey explains Shaw hasn't checked in because he's further within Warfang Hold, spying on the Horde. We assist Kelsey by healing injured spies in
, and acquiring salvaged parts in
We then meet again with Kelsey by climbing the mountains overlooking Warfang Hold in
, and protect Kelsey from harm while she assembles the Horde spying device in
귀 쫑긋 세우고!
. After the device is fully set up, Shaw still isn't responding to any communication, so Kelsey assumes he's also running into issues. We go to rescue Shaw atop the waterfall overlooking Warfang Hold in
When we arrive at the waterfall cave, Shaw is fighting with a Horde agent, which we help defend. Shaw managed to find an even closer spot to Warfang Hold! Shaw then informs that security was increased beyond normal means because all leaders of the Horde are gathered in Warfang Hold. Sylvanas is way too protected to strike down right but, but we can spy what's going on
The reunion's motive is revealed: Derek Proudmoore's escape to Kul Tiras. Sylvanas calls out the traitor, Thomas Zelling, and Baine Bloodhoof jumps to defend him. Thomas Zelling is killed by Nathanos, and Baine is imprisoned by Sylvanas, not before he called Sylvanas a traitor to the Horde.
With this information, we then return to Boralus to report to Jaina. Jaina laments what happened to Baine, and hopes that maybe now the Horde will no longer see Sylvanas as the hero she once was.
Horde Story Part 2
After returning to Nathanos in Dazar'alor, he ensures the information is sent to Sylvanas, and sends us to our next mission: SI:7 activity has been detected in Stormsong Valley, so we're sent there in

. Arriving there, the leader of the settlement, Boss Mida, mentions that Nathanos is correct, but don't tell him about the situation or he will get all smug about it. You then help control the Alliance spies by slaying them in
and destroying their listening devices in
After the Alliance spies are under control, Gallywix announces that there will be a huge event with all the Horde faction leaders in Warfang Hold and he was selling tickets for the event, but there is more people there than tickets available. In

, we eject visitors without tickets from Warfang Hold.
Finally, the Horde meeting takes place in
. In this meeting, Sylvanas announces that she knows Thomas Zelling was responsible for helping break Derek Proudmoore and send him back to the Alliance, and Baine defends him saying Sylvanas has no honor. On the aftermath of this event, Zelling is killed by Nathanos, and Baine is imprisoned by Sylvanas.
You then deliver the quest to Sylvanas, and can talk to the other leaders of the Horde for their reactions on the scenario.
Effects of Player Choice
If you choose to side with Saurfang back in the
Tides of Vengeance
quests, you will not be offered any player choice option. The following options only apply to players who side with Sylvanas.
In the first quest in the questline,
, you're supposed to go straight to Tiragarde Sound and report to Baine and Valeera. If you sided with Sylvanas, however, you will receive a different version of
, which requires you to report to Nathanos at the Banshee's Wail before heading to Tiragarde.
Do you have something to report, $n?
> Baine Bloodhoof has requested that I help him with a secret task.
> Nevermind. <Don't report Baine's request.>
If you choose to report to Nathanos:
So Bloodhoof wishes to act in shadow? We must know what he is planning.
Go along with his little task, $n. You are under my protection, so do not worry if you need to get your hands dirty to keep up the ruse.
Just do whatever he asks of you and return to me with your findings.
Afterward, you will see another semblance of choice on the quest

. If you sided with Saurfang or did not report Baine's mission to Nathanos, you will receive a version of the quest simply telling you to go to Stormsong Valley to help with the Alliance situation. However, if you sided with Sylvanas and reported Baine's mission, you will receive another version of
전쟁송곳니 주둔지 확보
, which has you going to Stormsong to help lock down the place and ensure nothing gets in the way of Baine being imprisoned.
Saurfang/No Report version:
"The Dark Lady has important work for you, <name>. Preparations are beginning for a meeting of the Horde's leadership at Warfang Hold. I trust I don't need to emphasize that security is of the highest import for this gathering. The goblin, Gallywix, has sent his underlings to make sure the area is swept of any... unwanted guests. I need you to make sure they succeed in their task."
<name>, the Dark Lady has need of your services once more. The traitor, Baine, is being brought before the leaders of the Horde at Warfang Hold. Preparations are underway as we speak to secure the area. The efforts are headed up by Gallywix's minions, who I wouldn't trust to secure a kennel. You will need to go to Warfang Hold and make sure the area is locked down. We are counting on you, <name>.
These changes are just a reflection of player choice, though, as the aftermath for both questlines is the same: Baine is exposed as the one who helped free Derek Proudmoore, and is imprisoned by Sylvanas.
Horde Leader Reactions
The Horde leaders, while passive during the cutscene, all have feelings about Sylvanas and Baine. Many of them express fear and concern, worried that striking out now would end badly for them.
, as usual, only cares about making profits.
"Well, I didn't see that comin'!
Wish I'd known things were gonna heat up this much. I coulda charged DOUBLE for admission!"
sides with Baine, but worries that open support will put the Blood Elves at risk.
"I cannot fault Baine's heart, even if his actions were drastic. Through this act of defiance, he exposed a schism in the Horde that has been growing since the attack on Teldrassil.
I fear that by openly opposing Sylvanas, he may have put his own people at risk. As mine would be, were I to side with him.
These are perilous times. We must be cautious... and deliberate."
is worried about the Horde's vulnerability after the Battle of Dazar'alor, made worse by this schism.
"Dis be some bad juju, mon. Da Horde gotta stick together if we gonna win dis war... but Sylvanas... she not be makin' dat easy.
And dis just gonna throw more fuel on da fire."
, the latest ruler to join the Horde, is wary of Sylvanas yet feels beholden to her. She, perhaps naively, hopes Baine will be given a trial.
"Without de Horde beside us, my people would now be at de mercy of de Alliance. We owe much to de warchief... but we will not follow her blindly.
Baine Bloodhoof has shown honor and respect to de Zandalari. He must be given a chance to face his accusers and answer for dis supposed crime."
, the Mag'har Orc leader, is one of the few to sympathize with Sylvanas. A latecomer to Azeroth, she was not present for the Burning of Teldrassil and Battle of Lordaeron, events which caused Saurfang to abandon the Horde and proclaim "Make sure you know the difference between loyalty and honor. High Overlord Saurfang says: And pray you never have to choose."
"She is no orc, but the warchief shows strength by punishing that tauren who deceived and betrayed her.
Those who lack loyalty also lack honor."
draws parallels between Baine rebelling against Sylvanas and her own experiences rebelling against Elisande, which saw her thrown out of the city, transforming into a Nightfallen without the sustaining power of the Nightwell.
"Our rebellion against Elisande was just, and it earned me a blade in the back. I pray Baine does not meet a similar fate.
The nightborne are still new to the Horde. Perhaps I should seek Lor'themar's council. He understands what my people have endured, and I have learned much through our conversations."
, a close friend of Baine, wonders if joining the Horde was a mistake.
"Is this what the Horde stands for? Imprisoning those who act with compassion and honor?
Perhaps my people should have never left Highmountain..."
, who looked especially upset in the cutscene, claims he will tell others about this. Could he plan to tell Thrall?
"There are others who must hear of this, $n.
And they will."
, whose exuberant pro-Horde attitude in early BFA was confusing, hints that it was a facade and she was planning on acting out...at some later point. Do note Garona is part of the Uncrowned, an organization dedicated to "the slayers of kings, the downfall of empires, the unseen blades that write the true history of this world."
"You see what happened to Baine? To Zelling? That's why we need to lay low, keep our heads down, follow the warchief's lead. At least for now.
Baine's mistake wasn't acting against Sylvanas. His mistake was acting too soon."
, a grizzled veteran of the First and Second wars, viewed Tirion Fordring as his brother, drawing parallels to the honor of Baine.
"Years ago, Tirion Fordring sacrificed everything to spare my life as a matter of honor. Baine has done much the same. Are we now to punish him for it?
I fear the Horde is becoming what we once hated, $c. And I do not like it."
, who showed compassion to Thomas Zelling and other newly-risen Forsaken, has second thoughts about how much free will the Forsaken truly have.
"Thomas Zelling has... had... a family in life. He made me promise to keep them safe, even after they called him a monster and shunned him for being undead. It is a promise I will continue to keep.
If they ever ask how he met his fate, I will tell them that he died a hero.
We Forsaken are raised with free will. That's what separates us from the Scourge. Sylvanas Windrunner used to take pride in that distinction.
But after all I have seen in this war, I must wonder if that still holds true."
references the events of Mists of Pandaria, where turmoil manifested in the form of the Sha.
I can sense much anger and frustration among those gathered here today. In my homeland, we saw such feelings manifest into very real threats after we spent too much time and energy suppressing them.
Baine had to act, lest his anger turn into a greater threat to the Horde.
We should all take a lesson from this.
