Hope the phoenix is pretty expensive, it'll really ruin the effect if anyone and everyone is riding around on one.
News from latest build: Horde's thunder lizard has been changed into... *drumroll*Can't wait until we get to see the model for it. :-D
Silly question I am sure, but does this mean that guild rep will be a new currency, that we can use to buy things from this vendor with, or will it be a case of you have to reach a certain reputation level in your guild in order to be able to buy them?

I'm really sick of people pee-ing on the idea that *God forbid* EVERYONE can get something super cool. The dark phoenix mount. I would happily ride around on one on my SP even if EVERY person in the game was doing the same thing. I think you must have self confidence issues that lead you to wanting to stand out. This game has more limits to uniqueness of character vanity than it does in most any other form I would think and that's perfectly fine with me. If you want to stand out do the things that are most obviously geared towards those who absolutely want to stand out and let the casual players have something other than a $25 mount from a blizzard store that is far from super cool.
I'm assuming the hierloom items will DISAPPEAR if for some reason i switch guilds or my guild master get's pissed and gkicks me because I didn't keep the tank topped off well enough while healing on a bad raid night. Anyone care to correct me on this? If items stick around: Expect to see a lot of people selling guild spots for easy gear obtainment. If items DON'T stick around: Better make good friends with your guild master.
Can almost guarantee that the heirlooms won't disappear... Doubt the mounts will either. The posibillity of buying them will disappear though, and also the unique-to-your-guild items as well I guess. (standard, etc)
If the items are bought with gold, and you don't loose the items when you leave the guild, then you can count on people selling guild spots to get easy perk items. Gold exploits generally do not go over well with Blizz. Perhaps they will design a unique-to-guild currency as was discussed earlier.
Guild reputation is basically what you're describing. (with the guild currency) :-)
So the moral of today's story is, make REALLY good friends with your guild master and don't waste any time buying items as soon as they're available. I couldn't imagine rep grinding all the way to Exalted status just to get gkicked for some stupid reason and have to start over.
