great idea blizz cant wait for mists
Explanation shows that every changes seems Great and affective !
Hmmm...need to find a way of getting off-spec loot. We have few enough tanks and healers as is....restricting loot in this may well discourage dual-spec and as dps is the easy option...Maybe select a loot option when you enter a raid group...eg a Paladin enters the raid as DPS, but selects 'Tank' as a loot preference? Or maybe equipment will not be quite so specialised so a piece of kit will work for any spec of aparticular class?Another option is to extend the 100 point role-bonus in LFR to all instances and raids.Or keep the current system but have another selection option: Need-MS, Need-OS, Greed, Pass.Having said all that, this proposed new system is definitely preferable to the current system (IMO), if it works how I imagine it...now just waiting for Beta pass...
Well to fix the OS issue...They should make it as you que up for LFR/Dungeon to choose which role you are going to do as usual then choose the spec you would like to receive loot for and then your loot would reflect that if you were to receive any. So say you are at a good point (aka ilvl high enough) for your DPS spec and would like to get your tank or healing spec up, this is how that should be taken care of to make it a lot easier to get gear for and OS. Please respond and let me know how this sounds to maybe get it into the game.
LFR -- Random player wants to build his/her tank/healer set but doesn't want to tank/heal, so they queue as DPS while in tank/heal spec, do crap DPS the entire time, or more likely, nothing at all, and the game will assign them spec-specific items. A new type of drama is born.
This is fantastic -- individual-based looting is what LFR needed all along. Too much drama ensued when it initially hit! I'm glad GC took the time to fully elaborate the upcoming changes!
Soo, charms, you said?

This sounds great, a more even way of getting gear.
I like the idea up to the point of not being able to trade items. For the sole purpose that this is still a social game with social interactions. I'd like to think of myself in the game meeting my fellow mates, Talking it up, Going on adventures, Etc etc.. And if say the game says "Here you won this take it" and I have a fellow mate with me in the dungeon, raid, etc etc. I should be able to say "Ehh already got 2 of these mate here you can have it" Because that's how I would be if I was in a real social setting with my real friends. Now maybe if all things being fair the game can set some sort of "equal" trade rules up. I can just give away grey and white items. But when things get a little more rare the game steps in and says "Hey to trade this purple epic chest piece you're going to need something of equal value in return" I dunno just a thought on something different.
