This is good stuff to know. I always enjoy getting to see the "behind the scenes" related information. But uh... from personal experience this xpac?
Seeing the background scenes for level designs is pretty awesome! I never thought of how much pressure is on the designers' shoulders! Props to them for the beautiful landscape and immersive area!
Wow this is really cool stuff, thanks for covering it
I'd really like to see some examples of clues on where to go in game and how they look at how to push you in the right direction with gameplay. Very ,very ,interesting.
the get pretty good on the landscape and putting whole design of objetives and zones to find a way to get where you need to quest suramar is beautiful they have pretty interesting spots to look but... "an ilusion what youre hiding" gets in the way all the time i get pissed and just go there complete quest and run away like hell but for a couple of weeks was amazing
I had no idea that so much went into level designs. Knowing that makes you appreciate so much more the game, every little thing goes through so much work. Hope they keep the awesome work in all patches to come.
Very informative. Thanks for putting it down! :)
so awesome!
I was disappointed this panel was lacking in information. Videos or more pictures would have been nice.
Questing experience was fantastic. I don't know yet how stale it might get on alts, but I'll remain positive.
STUCK!
The sheer amount of effort that must go into the design makes me love this game even more. Keep up the good work Blizz team! Thanks WoWhead for all these amazing posts!
im in aswell :D
Have to admit, the level and area designs for Legion are among the most impressive to date
level design in legion is great the world is beautiful.
That is really cool that are doing that. Kudo's to the DEV team.
I studied animation for a few years and level design was atop of the things that I wanted to do the most. To create a scene that is breathtaking - an atmosphere that can change the emotions of the player / viewer. It's almost like you're playing around with the psych of the person - seeing what buttons to push and which to leave alone. It's very interesting and there's a lot more behind it than we think. Take a look at legion for example. Halls of valor may be tedious sometimes but the visuals are astonishing - the same goes for maw of souls. The first time I ran through MoW I kept my eyes on the waves throughout the final boss fight rather than the boss herself. There was this intense atmospherical pressure - I felt like time was running out regardless of how our group was doing. Those waves man.
Great presentation, stuff like this always makes me give a second look around at the surrounding in games.
Original barrens guy eh? Do we have him to blame for barrens chat? :PI love seeing stuff like this though! It's so cool
