You have a good point. The weird zealous attitude dranei have towards the Light has always unsettled me a little. I wonder if there are any atheist dranei, considering the amount of contact they have with the beings they worship. Sort of a "just because you exist doesn't mean I have to believe in you" Granny Weatherwax sort of thing.
I only wish these recruitment quests could be done multiple times, rather than once per account.I actually enjoyed the scenario to recruit the nightborne and void elves, but can never do either of them again on any alt, once you've recruited the allied race, the recruitment quest is gone forever. It is my hope that at some point in the future, blizzard flicks a switch that lets us do these recruitment quests on alts if we wish to experience them again.
Yrel's corruption further strengthens Velen's storyline. He survived in MU all along to led his people. But MU one sacrificed himself and those Draeneis are now misguided. And this is not a sudden change of Yrel's character. She was already a fanatic during WoD.
The Eredar were once corrupted by the Fel and now people are surprised they can be corrupted by the Light?
While I would agree the story isn't award-nominating, I wouldn't flat out slam it as terrible or irredeemable.I don't know all the ins and outs of time, so I'm not going to pretend I do (And an objective look at what frames most of our universal understanding, neither does our scientific community - so I'm going to make a risky assumption and say nobody in a forum will either. And I'm not even going to ATTEMPT to tie that into magic)Having read the broadcast text, it sounds very he-said-she-said to me; The Burning Legion's influence did little more than reinforce and wedge already disparate ideologies farther apart; the Mag'har, having faced two mass-inductions in a single generation, both resulting in nothing but loss all around, they don't seem AGAINST outsiders and other clans, but they are increasingly self-sufficient and pro-freedom. The Draenei, on the other hand, felt a need like no other to lay deeper, stronger, and more roots if they didn't want the next petty uprising to ruin the rest of their sacred temples and drive them to extinction (for those who played Alliance in WoD, they lost almost everything.)While I think the Light is VERY capable of uncontrolled spread and bedlam, the Mag'har calling them fanatics and zealots is just a TEENSY WEENSY bit inflated - at least as inflated as their belief that Draenor is inherently savage and needs 'order'. There's even mention to the Orcs damaging Draenor themselves, as the battle in Gorgrond is said to be considerably more desolate than the man-eating tropics we once saw. Plus, the Draenei weren't naive enough to believe all their hardships were the fault of others - several key figures turned coats and cost them some of their most paramount locations and resources - were there ever a time for them to reinforce their entire culture, it's probably overdue at this point. Now, don't be confused; I'm NOT justifying radical behavior, and there are still a number of screws loose in the plot. But understanding a story takes so much more than scratching the surface and going feral the moment one little detail isn't crystal clear.
Durotan is pretty much the Admiral Akbar of World of Warcraft.
Well where is the Void Corrupted Draenei ? It is the only one left to check the box ! We have Fel-corrupted Eredar, Light corrupted Lightforged...Void corrupted are next O.oThe loss of AU Velen can be quite the catalyst to what happened with Yrel. She always showed the signs of zealotry and kinda took on Maraad's burden too after he saved her. After the end of Hellfire Citadel, Yrel taking a leading role after everything the Naaru did for her and Draenor...probably convinced her that the Light is the only way. She is not aware of what we know now after Legion. We saw how Xe'ra can be just as controlling and 'corrupting' as the Fel or Void. Even the Main Velen learned that about the Light and now knows not to blindly trust it. Light and Void or any pure force really, cannot give you all the answers by themselves because the reality you are living in is created by their clash and mix. When you try to make something PURELY of one element, you will inevitably destroy it. It is just sad that AU Draenor's fate is looks to be opposite but the same...destruction at the hands of not Fel but ironically, the Light. What I fear is when that happens, the surviving Lightbound and Light fanatics might try the way of the Main Draenei to escape with the Help of Naaru to the AU Azeroth and spread their Light Zealotry there ! And without a Horde on that Azeroth...What would an AU Alliance would do ? Accept the zealotry ? Fight against it ? Many questions...none of it have good answers. I am just sad that Durotan is dead. And Draka is left behind ? I mean she better come along with us and not turned into Lightbound O.o
You know it's one thing to have the Light misused, that's fine. That's been done. But draining/destroying words? The Naaru themselves breeding fanatacism?Get the hell out. Having the Light drain life is like having Bolvar suddenly gain the power to turn Icecrown into a green and verdant paradise. It makes no sense. It's the antithesis of what it is.As for the Naaru, I guess they're just the Gold Gods now. Amazing how Blizzard speak of nuance while stripping any they had just to make them evil. Wonderful. And don't give me Xe'ra, the worst Xe'ra ever did was try to stop Alleria from succumbing to the void, and attempt to cure an edgelord of his fel addiction. How do you go from attempting to cure a corrupted man with vague consent issues to "DRAIN THE LAND KILL THE HERETICS DEUS VULT."
What’s the point in rescuing these guys when Sylvanas is just going to feed them right into the meat grinder? I haven’t watched the video but unless they changed the pre recruitment conversation she outright says they’re expendable to her.
And now everyone over there has beards for some reason.
