The quote with "Circle near complete" is a direct reference to what players see at the end of the chain quest after you defeat Argus on heroic mode.It has nothing to do with this cinematic."It has been foretold in the rings" Ilgy talks about the rings found in trees that tell the age of a tree. Those quote have nothing to do with this cinematic. Both of these quotes are DIRECTLY referenced by the last quest of the chain. Also , Lady Vashj was sent by Azshara to answer Illidans call during Warcraft 3 to help him with his plans to destroy the Burning Legion (which N'zoth saw as an opportunity). As you can see at the end of the Legion expansion he did just that. This is not a theory as all of this adds up to what Xalatath said , what N'zoth is known to do and is the "victory unnoticed".
Where is it revealed that what we saw is Ny'alotha ? All I've seen was a call back to the Black Empire, fitting with what N'Zoth said at that moment of the short. "Before you walked this realm, I ruled." There is no hard evidence that what we saw was Ny'alotha, which is supposed to be under the sea, by the way... It looked more like a flash back, where the towers would act as an image... N'Zoth, all powerfull, being hold in his own dream of old empires, prisonner. I'm pretty sure this wasn't Ny'alotha.
Just also wanted to say, great job! its really nice to read it all up on one page
Perculia, what an enormous amount of work and time this must have taken you to write. Thank you for such an interesting analysis; you brought so much more depth to the cinematic for me, and I greatly appreciate that.
Very interesting analysis. I enjoyed reading this. Thank you very much :)
Thank you very much, great job! Adds a lot of depth for me. And as I just love all this Lovecraft-inspired thing, I will be following lore and story in BfA more closely from now on!
This is a very well done analysis. It really highlights the works of art these shorts are - they’re much more than just promo videos, and a lot of work and nuance has gone into conveying their stories. Excellent work and much appreciated.Edit: I was reminded how much it struck me that, near the beginning, Azshara’s gasps of exertion perfectly parallel the fish’s mouth “gasping” (as it is in effect “drowning” being out of water). That matched with the woman’s voice the fish uses makes it seem like a preview of the state in which she’s about to find herself. Maybe even N’Zoth trying to see herself in the fish, either mocking her or enticing her? Or maybe giving voice to her own fears, her own terror in that moment as everything is collapsing around her! Wonder if it’s the same actress?
I think you mean "Magnificent..."
and so she made a deal with a devil.
I like how feminism has played a big role into bringing these wannabe bad ass lich queens into Wow all of a sudden. It is interesting how feminism has influenced movies, games, people, etc.
@perculiaif you stay there like me for 1 hour after killing the last boss -Uu'nat, Harbinger of the Void-, you will see N'Zoth talks time to time(between 3-10 min each)these are some of his whispers:N'Zoth whispers: receive now the greatest of all gifts, my dream has become your own!N'Zoth whispers: The fall of night reveals her true face. She will bring only ruin.N'Zoth whispers: she will show you the way, Come...come. the hours approaches when all eyes shall be opened. the circle of stars made flesh!N'Zoth whispers: she is not the last, but the first. drown her and you will see.N'Zoth whispers: he gave himself to the deep places, he gave himself to me.N'Zoth whispers: The veil wanes. His crown will open the way.N'Zoth whispers: Six seats at the high table. Six mouths that hunger. One will consume all others.N'Zoth whispers: it grows hungrier...bolder. Alas, Your eyes are closes.P.S: min 50 of staying at the place and got this one:N'Zoth whispers: The Light has struck a bargain with the enemy of all.you all can Thank me later :-)
