Its interesting to me that the very existence of Classic WoW angers people so much. Look at the first comments on this discussion. Those guys clearly hate the idea for classic, yet they rushed to be the first to comment on a story about it. Perplexing.... Why not just go play BFA? What exactly about this completely optional thing bothers you so?And don't say its because the classic players are arrogant or offensive, because this post clearly shows that some people attack classic as an idea right out of the gate. They got the VERY FIRST POSTS on this article without any provocation.
I hope it's successful and enjoyable for the people who want it, but I don't want anything from Classic to find its way into Retail again. I enjoyed Classic, TBC and Wrath back in the day very much, maybe even more than modern WoW (MoP and Legion aside) but I don't have the sort of lifestyle that would let me enjoy such a game any more. I'd rather Retail stay a casual-friendly experience with collectables and the ability to focus on story, so I can actually have fun with it, instead of never being able to finish stories because they're in raids or having nothing to do outside of daily quests.Of course, given I've already played those stories that's actually just something that TBC and Wrath would have less incentive for me to play... the Vanilla stories are the only things I'd be interested in Classic for, and I never really found them that memorable (thus why I'd want to see them again) or particularly good compared to modern storytelling.
Two of the first three comments are already people wanting more beyond what they're getting. I knew this would be the case and that Blizzard just opened up a massive can of worms by going down this road. They will NEVER please this crowd. Ever. They will get bored with a 15 year old version of WoW within weeks and convince themselves the problem is that TBC was the REAL classic experience they wanted and turn the forums into a toxic wasteland of demands and crying all over again. If they get that it'll be on to Wrath...etc...etc.Past this summer's release not another ounce of dev time should be wasted on this nostalgia pipe dream. Put the money and resources where they belong: the present and the future.
Too bad it wasn't Blizzard's idea. It took years of them suing other people already offering a vanilla experience to realize there was a market for it that they could capitalize on. And here we are with classic wow. There needs to be a happy medium between the vanilla grindfest and awfulness and spoonfed garbage that is BFA. Oh wait, it was BC/WoTLK. If all the addons that hold your hands suddenly stopped working, we could actually have a game that had some challenge to it without being overwhelmingly difficult.
WoW Classic is a waste of resources. NOT HGC. yeah, same skins, different shades. nice skins every now and then. never implement surrender button when your team clearly ****ed the draft and when one of your allies are clearly clueless and it's a 5v4, when 5v4s are nearly impossible. no clans. implement voice like 2 years after in a team game. BUT BLAME THE HGC. *sarcasm* ***** BRACK. WoW only child Brack. WoW Classic was good b/c and other thoughts:1) No competition2) Old farts have selective memory3) Contemporary WoW offers challenges for hardcore players as welljust cus you had to walk 10 miles to school, doesn't mean that you're superior, ya old farts. i'm an old fart btw.
How hard is to see other people like a challenge, over the years I saw a lost of RPG stuff in wow, reagents, spell a and armor penatration, ammo, hit cap, spirit and a lot more, to you maybe its crazy to someone to like those thing, but its important to some of us.The Nostarius private classic server shown Blizzard something
Blizzard is wrong on the warlock spell. While a demon is in play. If the warlock starts to cast Summon *demon, The current demon is dazed until the cast is complete. If the cast is interrupted the demon stays dazed for 3 seconds.
I lol'd when the Dev's were "surprised" by how the game worked.Yeah, we all know Vanilla was a %^&*ing mess. If this is what surprise them, I can't wait for the fake Hearthstone cast in battlegrounds, or the "charge puts you undermap", etc... Etc... There was so much gameplay issue in Vanilla, I wonder if they'll try to fix them all.
Can only speak for myself and my opinions, but I prefer Classic over BfA.All the people pointing out aspects of vanilla like it's going to change my mind (or others') are sorely mistaken. I view so many of those 'flaws' as positives.
It's funny how everybody here just seems to assume everybody else has already played the game. Good for you if have, but don't generalize. Love WC 1 to 3, just finished TFT, and was super frustrated to learn that WoW has been replaced and isn't available anymore. Now I'm excited af that they are bringing it back on line so I can finally step into Azeroth, MMORPG style. I'm not interested in alternative versions of the game atm, just want to continue the WC story. So please hurry up Blizzard!
