For spending Gold, i actually take a pretty good advice from previously WoW Economy Posts: Investing in new markets, some times resetting Mats on AH or Fliping some BOEs, my servers is Huge and full on competition, its not easy to mass many gold, but besides getting gold for the token. im proud of getting my first million, in this pretty savage economy that my server is now.
What do you like to spend your gold on? The most gold would I spend on mounts and if I make enough gold I would buy tokens. What's the most expensive thing you've ever bought? Buff Food, yes you read right it was an investing strategy but unfortunately I lose the most gold ^^.Have you ever gambled with an unclaimed container on the Black Market?Short answer, no. On this topic I'm scaredy cat ^^.
The last commandment (Thou Shalt Enjoy) definitely resonates with me the most. I'm definitely nowhere near the richest person on my realm but I can say with confidence that I've enjoyed every minute of my gold-making. "Thou shalt not invest more than you’re willing to lose" is a natural corollary I think - one of the reasons I've always enjoyed what I chose to do as gold-making is that I've been careful about not putting myself in a situation where I'd regret going down a particular path.
"Thou shalt not invest more than you’re willing to lose". This one is the one I realized what was keeping me from investing in new markets. I was always somewhat reserved in thinking that I might lose more gold than I could handle but I kind of took the approach of I'm willing to lose around 50-100k in making mistakes as long as I learn why I lost the gold so it wouldn't happen again. It afforded me more opportunities to take risks and most of the time they work out at least "ok" haha.
