Apparently bright Blizzard analysts couldn't just count how many people are trying to log and open sufficient realms day 1... And in b4 someone says "people will quit", yeah but atm there's LAYERING on which means every server holds multiple times more players than the necessary for "healthy community", even if 60-80% of people quit, the "full" servers will still have enough players. And they're all friggin' full!

Plus if you expect 80% of playerbase to quit, then it means you have no faith in your own product...deaborn의 댓글Fun Fact:

They're not expecting a drop to be THAT massive, they just want to be sure that any drop at all isn't going to impact the servers much.

So they're going for the absolute minimum needed, rather than adding heaps right away and risking that some servers don't get many players because everyone clusters on the higher pop realms anyways.JaceDraccus의 댓글 They said healthy pop in vanilla 2005 was around 3000 people on a server. Multiple servers with 20k queue show definitely massive underestimation of the number of servers needed, 20k in the queue and how many in? 10k? That's already multitudes more than they stated vanilla needs to sustain server community. The drop off would have to be massive to go from full + 20k queue to noticably less than 3k remaining per server.
