Two important things. This article completely omitted a very important thing they shared. Despite Classic's massive success, this Q3 they still did worse than Q3 of last year where BfA released. Classic despite its success is not a money maker, it has no monetization beyond subs. This simply cannot be ignored because whatever they do Classic will not drive profits.Secondly, praising their decision to focus on long term growth over short term gains just shows zero understanding of corporate speak. It is literally the nicest way they can put that they are not gonna be making any growth until probably the NEXT Q3, as they have p much NOTHING lined up for the first half of 2020, Heck Shadowlands might be Q4. The claim they are going for long term growth is literally that after their 2019 throwaway they still haven't got anything together to turn it up for 2020 for a long while.People celebrating Classic are missing the big picture.
Friendly reminder that classic and retail are on the same subscription, so saying "Classic failed because almost everyone I know came back to retail" is not accurate. I'm sure ActiBlizz would actually prefer people to play retail over classic, because there's more ways to monetize than just the base sub cost, so they win either way.
I dont understand what people don't see in Classic. Its the reason why WoW is still around today, because it gave WoW a legendary status in the gaming world. The boss designs weren't as complex as they are now, but overall the game is better designed for what its suppose to be, a MMORPG. Yes not everything about classic is good, but IMO its still a lot better than WoW has been in a long time.
SL is NOT making leveling "meaningful" (whatever that is supposed to be)#1 after bfa every forth coming expansion pre-patch will put you back to level 50 so you can level to 60 in the next expansion#2 leveling from 1-50 will be the fastest ever in the game#3 you still have mostly the same spell and the same 7 talent rows we have since mopFor me that looks more like leveling is now the most useless it could ever be
Just got done killing Onyxia. The guild I am in had 73 people online, and split the weekly Ony run into two groups to just invite anybody attuned. We have two groups clearing MC each week as well. On an RP server. Classic is doing just fine. :)
"increase" is the key word here. Also, even people subbing for one month count into that.
"The release of World of Warcraft: Classic drove the biggest quarterly subscription increase in WoW history worldwide.""You think you do but you don't"KekThey've more than doubled their investment in profit and it hasn't even been three months.
