So, WoW is now happy-fun-time-diversity land.Other than the whole jailer thing - which isn't really that interesting, only mysterious - there's not a whole lot to look forward to in the story. Now that everyone is friends, what's the point? What is there to feel enthusiastic about other than the amazing job the art and animation team has done again?I don't know what it is. It just feels bland and it's not because this is still really early development. This has less hype around it than MoP and BFA did.
Protecting the living? Seriously?
Ok, forget the undead fiasco for a sec.
Firstly, I like the new lines. I like the You and Your theme throughout these lines.Blood Elves - I'm not "elves that came before me". I like the "You toil" because I am a champion, not all elves are as prestigious as I am. Goblins - Glory, really? good call removing that.Orcs - We don't really need to "Prove our strength and honor" anymore do we?Taurens - I get it, they're not all pacifists that just love nature. I like the mentioning of physical and spiritual.Trolls - They aren't just trolls and it's good to have the recognition of the Darkspear tribe.Undead - It's fine and apparently controversial, still, maybe I don't want to before called "Cursed", we still have feelings too, sometimes, maybe?
Lightforged Undead, all switched to Alliance now rofl
You see, Night Elves! Us Forsaken only wanted to protect you! There was a spider in Teldrassil, we had no choice!
I'm STILL holding back any judgements about the changes made to the undead because of one reason: Calia.I think she's just being propped up to become the new leader, or at least their new therapist, of the Forsaken. And she's WAAAAY cleaner morally than even the average Forsaken, who always seemed nihilistic to me. So this "Protect the living" outlook might be a change of heart/mind brought about by Calia's influence. All the other races have been just recieved a minor update rather than a big change like this, but also all the other races haven't just lost the leader they've had since Classic. So if Calia's the justification for this new outlook, I think I can live with it.
Who wrote this garbage? Have they ever actually played Horde? OR FORSAKEN?
Happiest moment in my WoW life. When bannerbae aka Tink Tink Girl looked upon Sylvanas after she revealed her betrayal. And let them enter Orgrimmar with Saurfang's corpse. Forsaken were used for Sylvanas' vengeance a for very long time. Nobody believed they belongs to the horde, but they do. They've abandoned their queen's side. Because FOR THE HORDE
Not sure why all the races have to be hell bent on heroics and being goody goodies. Having everyone be super in sync and fighting for good isn't interesting at all.
We'll fight for freedom wherever there is trouble,The Horde is there! The Hoooooorde...A Real Azerothian HeroThe Horde is there. Its The Horde against the Jailer and Sylvanas,Fighting to save the day.We never give up, we're always there,Fighting for freedom over land and air.*BAM* *BAM*
So Blizzard wanted to fix the faction imbalance in the game and they had no logical way of doing it. So they decided to make the Horde races shoot rainbows out of their butts so a lot of the edgelords who are playing the game as Horde stop playing the game altogether.Or maybe no one even reads the damn intros."oh cool look at that dead guy with that huge axe in his hand. imma be that."
I've played Forsaken since I created my first character in late Cata. Through thick and thin, I've followed the Banshee Queen and fought to protect the HORDE, since they were the only ones who accepted us in our time of need. I feel I'm relatively qualified to speak of the nature of the Forsaken. The Forsaken do not strive to protect the living. They strive and fight to protect what is rightfully theirs- Lordaeron and most of the northern Eastern Kingdoms. Because so many races and organizations refuse to recognize our legitimacy and personhood, we have to fight to keep what is ours. Because our people cannot procreate naturally and are literally rotting away, we must seek out and raise more bodies to maintain our defenses, lest we wither away and disappear. This wouldn't be necessary if the humans learned to look past the rotting flesh and see that we're people too- their brothers and sisters who want to be recognized, not swept away and discarded. My loyalty to the Horde has been unquestioning for nearly a decade for the simple reason that they have had our backs when we needed them. We protect the Horde's interests because many times, the Horde has made the Forsaken's interests their own. I think a better intro line might be something along the lines of:As one of the undead Forsaken, you have been reanimated by dark magic. Though shunned by the living, you tirelessly strive to stake your claim on Azeroth.
The undead one — comic relief?
