Oh boy, oh boy, gamepad support :D I just need some time to get used to it. Overall satisfied. Maybe I will stream leveling trough zones using gamepad :p pic.twitter.com/Upn7c3p26X— Stiven ⛏ (@Stiven_SRB) May 3, 2020

This looks like it could be fun for leveling! But looting looks like a huge pain...
Think I'll stick to good ol' mouse and Keyboard.
TBH, this should be implemented now and not have to wait for shadowlands.
What about my wheel support for mounts?
Controller support really makes me wish game had a dodge roll :D
Seems like it would still take two hands and most fingers to play with a game pad.A MMO mouse that has 12 buttons on the side seems like a better solution for people with accessibility issues as that only requires two fingers and a thumb on the right hand and one finger on the left hand for movement.
I don't see how playing with controller is easier with less fingers that kb+m. If anything it should be way harder since you cannot press the keys you're used to press with any exisiting conditions and it limits your ability to keybind anywhere on the keyboard or mouse for your own availability.
This was unexpected, but it may be fun to mess around with, who knows.
Pretty cool that its getting implemented. My main curiosity is if you can dual use one of these with your binds but also still have your mouse usable? For things like looting, interacting, and using further key binds (like being able to mount without it taking up a key bind on the controller).
I'm pissed that as one of the few people lucky enough to have alpha i don't have a controller to try this out on :(
When this goes live, they really should add a 3rd row of key bindings or in any case at least have a controller specific section.I wouldn't want to have to overlap the bindings I already have for "Key 1 and "Key 2".
It is awesome that there is yet another way to play the MMO we all enjoy, or hate, to play. This is a step forward. As Blizzard has said there are people that play with add-ons emulating this behavior already. This is developed for players that do want it. Heck, I'll actually try playing WoW on my TV now through my Steam Link with a controller if the controller binds are baked into the game and I don't have to fiddle with add-ons.P.S. What happened to Action Cam? Is it still a thing? Could be nice to use that view with a controller.
You have to think using a Controller in WoW as playing a fighting game: some spells will require combos to circunvent the natural shortage of buttons. So far, it looks similar to ConsolePort I guess.
XIV has been doing controllers just fine for years. I prefer WoW as a game, but playing that game on controller is surprisingly good and doesn't affect my performance at all.
I approve this! FF can work with gamepad support so it's time for wow to improve accesibility too
Legit gonna use this for layin' back in my bed and playing on my TV.
Wow is so bloated with buttons that its damn near impossible to play this game competently without a keyboard.Clickers exist and even compete in high level content so anything is possible. In saying that, i would recommend one particular addon that brings up a fly out.https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/opieyou can bind as many abilities to a radial flyout that you could select with the second analogue stick. You can set the radial flyout to stay open so you can use it as an onscreen gamepad. This would let you keep bumpers for target selection.
