Anyone thinking there are more shaman changes upcoming must be new to this. It happens every expansion: shamans feel like a leftover with disjointed mechanics quickly duct taped together for release and the next six months are in flux as they try to reorient a broken class.Anyone remember the 8.1 notes about how "elemental shamans are unique by being the only spec that use lightning so prevalently so we want to focus on that"? And now that's all out the window because the Lava Surge -> Lava Burst loop is the TRUE calling of elemental shamans? And it doesn't even feel good in beta?Yeah, pretty sick of this class.EDIT: Oh but don't worry: we got Primal Strike back.
What's the diff between enhan and ele?
I love Ele and have played it forever, through good and bad times, but if it stays this disjointed (it's like 3 different thirds of a spec that don't mesh together) I'll be swapping to Enhance, which so far looks incredible
Its sad that the best thing you can say about ele is that they got rid of searing totem. Its a complete dumpster fire, without the fire. Do your self a favor and reroll.
Great rundown of the things we'll be disappointed about in just a few months! I am convinced nobody at Blizzard understands Elemental Shamans, or play one. These changes solve nothing, our issues are still the same and we will keep getting insta-declined from any sort of Group Finder high-level content. I have lost count of how many times my chain lighting pulled unnecessary mobs in a crucial +15... Blizzard, listen to your players. You took away Maelstrom, fine, but Fulmination is the same %^&*, we'll still use it for Earth Shocks and Earthquakes anyway, so what is the point of changing it? It's like they want to say they changed something, and accomplished nothing with it.If our soulbinds aren't completely out of this world OP, there will be no reason to play Elemental in SL.
One quick note before discussing the specific changes to each spec, Searing Totem is being removed as a baseline button to all Shaman. Searing Totem was brought back in Shadowlands with the intention of Totems being a cool and iconic part of the Shaman class, but without significant redesign to the button to give it mechanical interaction and feeling impactful to press, it wound up feeling like just another cooldown you had to manage that didn’t have any excitement behind it.Unless i missed something else? Sadly not on beta atm.
BFA ele and enhance are not fun. I want the old playstyles that both specs had in mop and wod and Blizzard has finally listened to those players like me. Obviously shaman players dont like the builder spender mechanic of maelstrom.NO ONE DOES. Builder spender mentality is the minority pov.
ele is so close to being good, just get rid of this seismic thunder clunk and make it closer to MoP. also maybe some kind of way to spread flame shock better? please?
Ive played elemental for a great many years. Ive finally seen the writting on the wall and jumped to another class. What we see so far is utterly depressing for their playability in SL. And the removal of Maelstrom should never have happened, they should just have iterated more on it. Currently there is much better synergy in the elemental kit, than what we are looking forward to.It was nasty blows since mop to lose lightning bolt on the move, gust of wind, ancestral guidance gutted and no cd on flame shock. Now im finally broken. They do not know what to do with elemental.
I’ve been playing beta on both m+ and raid and the shaman is really bad right now I know it’s beta and they have to change and adjust things but resource generation is a little absurd and inefficient now that the lava burst doesn’t generate fulmination, that the Earth shock hit very little even snorted with motE the burst damage is usually 2.2k while the shock does not reach at 1.7k buffed, actually its useless casting something other than lava burst, they need to change too many things to do the spec usefull
Any information on Soulbinds or Conduits? Do any of these help outweigh the 'negatives' of some of the Covenant abilities?
What the hell was wrong with Maelstrom? From what I see, the whole Shadowlands change only make the Shaman gameplay disjointed and disruptive. Not to mention you might have to go ST or AOE in such drastic ways that it might as well be 2 different specs. And in many bosses, that is a liability.Honestly, why did people asked for this change?
I remember having fun playing Ele in Legion.I liked the old Earthen Rage graphics better. The new build seems bloated. If I ever get a beta invite, I can't wait to try it so I reserve my judgement until then.
In next weeks build, Totem Mastery will drop a burning dumpster on the ground.
