OMG thank you to those that mentioned WowUp, it works so good. I can finally stop using the laggy and ugly Twitch client.
Wowup.io is by far the best one out there, not only updates everything including elvui but also you can search and install new addons and that is something that other options don't provide
I use the Twich client for looking up new addons and updating them. What exactly are the advantages of using these addon managers over that? I've never had problems working through Twitch so don't see why I should use Ajour or anything else. Could anyone explain?
Just started using WowUp and am liking it a lot.
https://wowup.io is pretty awesome with no ads, very simple and multiple sources for updates. Now I don't need a Twitch and TukUI addon - I just use this one.
Following a recent highlight from wowhead about an addon manager, I went to the comment section and found the wowup.io being advertised on like every post. I went and looked it up and found where the developer had posted he was "working on" a new app a month ago, found post in July/August time. I found it rather odd the amount of posts I was and have been seeing in regards to this wowup and its userbase. Not only has it been a short period for the app to have been around to have such passionate users but they all come and post on wowhead forums too...... seems sus.... Not to mention all lot of the posters supporting this client have been very aggressive and critical of other clients.... hmmmmm
Just tried it out. I love how light weight and simple it is. Also pulls from ElvUI which I couldn't get twitch to do. Thanks for the recommendation, I found my replacement for shadowlands.
WoWup is way better than this one.
Love this! The main page was down when I read this; googling "Ajour Github" lets you load the project page as an alternative. Was able to build the project on Linux, making it immediately the best add on manager in that OS. Well done!
"updates from both CurseForge and TukUI" - thats what I need
Ajour's website crashed. It could be due to traffic.Regardless, I have been using Cursebreaker and it is great. It does everything I need it to.
You won't find many older alternative for one simple reason : they are not welcome.Addon managers usually leeched bandwidth and data from site like Curse, making profit at their depend. They also are giving very like credit to addon developpers and work against the community.Curse and wowinterface blocked those apps from accessing to their site several times by the past.Addon manager tried to bypass that, rehosting addons, creating copies... and strongly breaching into copyright laws.Addon managers are very often seen as parasites and not always legal. If any of those become popular it's clear that curse and wowinterface will block them again.
