Is it really necessary to rub it in?
This makes me feel old and nostalgic! My very first interaction with WoW was sitting in for my brother who was healing Hellfire Ramparts (just a day or so after launch). It has been a long and wild ride since then, and I am grateful to have experienced it!
I remember the midnight release for this at a GameStop in Castle Rock, Colorado. Take me back
In a lesser note. The wondrous gear design of corruption came out 368 days ago. Funny enough I sort of miss it, like twilight dev and ineffable truth.
There will be a Burning Crusade classic version of the game. No doubt about that, whether this one sells and is a hit like vanilla wow classic will determine if they go wrath of the lich king next, since a lot of people say great things about it talking nostalgic of course.
What an expansion - Blizzard were totally unafraid to experiment, all the zones were varied, they started trying to achieve some semblance of balance by making every class actually have a meaningful DPS spec (even if they didn't hold a candle to TBC Hunter/Lock damage) and began to add actual mechanics to raid fights. The addition of gems was fantastic allowing for customisation within your gear, and the move to the rating system for Hit, Crit etc. was very much a good thing. Gameplay had started to take shape and steps were made towards interesting rotations, even if not all of them were realised until a further expansion. The best time in Warcraft's life, even if was not the peak of popularity. It continued to grow the game and bring more players into Azeroth. Truly a masterpiece. The soundtrack is incredible too.
And the game runs worse now xD
And just like in the opening of Ahn'Qiraj: I was there
I was... Not prepared for this information!
Ah those were good times!
Played in vanilla but TBC was when my love of WoW really took hold.Remember mentally preparing for the Magtherdon raid as it was hard as hell! In hindsight it probably only like a modern heroic bit we everyone was just learning still
Good feelings... started with Black Temple Patch, everything for the first time... My first dungeon, my first raid :) Just ask in chat and join a Karazhan raid. No logs, no rio, no ilvl. Good old times :) I know i wanted to trade the abilitie to auto shot from my Hunter to my Warrior... xDAnd then fight with this guild, all the way up. I know we cried in teamspeak as we killed Kaelthas for the first time after months of trying. And old content and tier was still relevant these days... You raided this every week again. Now, if a new patch is released, all the old content is useless for gearing.
You are not prepared for Classic tbc servers!
if they played for as long as 7.3, they certainly are
I was level 42 when this came out. I rushed to try and see the demon invasion but missed it. I had no idea what I was doing back then and thought levelling as a Prot Warrior was the best thing to do because I was spending too much on gold to respec. Good times
I ran a raiding guild for this expansion and it pretty much ruined the expansion for me XDI cannot stand to even go in the zones nowadays. If I can avoid it, I do. The whole thing just depresses me.
Better days.
