Though not an epic drop story, I certainly was in an epic battle in Alterac Valley once that I'll never forget. Back in the day when level 60 was the cap, we had a typical start to the battle when things started to go wrong. We didn't have enough on defense to stop Horde at the bridge, so they began entering Dun Baldur. As a paladin, I ended up in Vanndar's room trying to protect him while the Horde worked over his marshals. We fought off two waves of attackers trying to kill Vann. I had him targeted so I could report his health back to the raid. Horde had him down to less than 10% health, but they wiped and didn't beat him!We ended up regaining our strength, we got enough turn ins to get the druids to help summon Ivus, then we marched on down to Drek Thar's domain and thoroughly defeated the Horde protecting him, then killed Drek himself. The complete battle took well over an hour to complete. It was the most fun I've ever had in Alterac Valley and I'll always remember it.
In Azshara, I farmed the Azure Whelpling pet for four hours and did not see it drop. Right after hearthing to Orgrimmar, a warlock said in chat 'WTS Azure Whelping'! I asked how much and the warlock said 'oh idk 50g?'! Bought or not, I was very happy with the outcome.
ok so I was about lvl 66 (sub rogue) @ the time and my 70 warrior friend was geared for Kara (patch 2.4.3) and we were doin a reg Shadow Lab run. Well we were on Blackheart the Inciter... He downed my ENTIRE party when he was at about 57% health except my friend and I. Ok so my party goes... oh well bad luck, let's try again and spirit rez. My friend and I do NOT give up the battle and keep fighting. My group is stunned, I made it to when he was down to 19% then died... My Tank 70 friend managed to make it with SEVENTY health and had popped ALL his CD's! lol It was BY FAR the most intense WoW moment ever. That is what Shield Wall and LAST STAND are for... The final stand!
Out of all my gear that Ive won, Even my Tier 5. I would have to say the most excited and most Epic piece of gear I have received Is not even an Epic. Pre BC I farmed Scholo countless times. For the Beast Stalker's Helm. I still have it to this day. =D Sitting in the bank with my tier 4 helm and soon to be tier 5 helm thanks to wotlk. Next most epic thing received to me isint even gear. My Ghost wolf that I was able to tame before they fixed the glitch. That was really hard but so worth it. Ty Blizz for letting me keep it <3
The staff off Illidan.
Well, this will probably seem a bit cliché, but my Pillar of Ferocity was the most epic drop I've gotten. I never raided much preBC, and was in a very small guild until we merged with a much larger guild. My very first raid with the new guild was Hyjal (Gruul had been the extent of my 25 man experience up to then). I was nervous and eagerly wanted to prove myself to the new guildies. Well, they had never killed Anetheron, my guild showed up new to the instance in general. We breeze through the first boss, wipe it up a few times on Anetheron, then we finally down him. It was a great bonding moment with the new guild - and lo and behold, the Pillar drops. First kill with this guild and for myself. It was amazing, and I was very lucky to be the only feral druid in there for that run, seeing as how there were 3 other ferals that offtanked from time to time.Ralias of The Seventh TrumpetBlade's Edge
I can recall farming for hours on end for the stupid empty wine bottle in the Barrens, fishing in that stupid sludge fen and scooping up everything but. Wheels, acidic sludge, blasting powder, had a few greens. When I finally got the stupid bottle, an absolute efficacy swarmed over me, and I collapsed at the desk where a geomancer killed my level 51 toon at the time.
The time I got my epic flyer...I mined lots of mining bars/primals for about 3 weeks and sold them all on the AH. I finally got my epic flyer and had about 12g left :D
It would definitely have to be the Manslayer of the Qiraji. http://www.wowhead.com/?item=21492I loved sword specialization as an arms warrior and have been using several decent blue 2h swords, and have been using the 'The Unstoppable Force' often as well. I was long waiting for this (Or a OEB from MC, Zin'rokh from ZG, and of course Asscandy) and I've been to numerous raids in hopes of getting it. You'd be laughing at how my face lit up once I saw it linked and how much brighter it got once it was ploped into my bag (Equipped it almost immediately). I've never be so excited to get such a great weapon, even today it sits in my bank waiting for me to take it out and show it off around town.
Orb of Deception, all the way.I love playing with awesome, fun items and back before Burning Crusade, the orb was still fairly rare. When I first got mine (I've gotten quite a few since then), I used it everywhere I went.
My most epic loot story happened last week. My guild was doing 10-Man Naxxramas and we were on Thaddius. We get Thaddius down to 4% until mostly everyone dies. Me and a druid healer are left at 1% and i holy shock Thaddius down twice after i had aggro and was running away. Then after Thaddius dies and everyone screams and laughs, me and the druid have a polarity shift fight. I won because he had low hp and i bubbled haha. Then T7 hero Legs dropped for me and I got them. :D
