Many people think of discipline as a only-tank-healing spec and holy as a raid healing spec. The part about discipline is not true. Disc priests have some very nice shields they can spam on people. When they have shielded a part of the raid, a normal raid healer (Druid, holy priest, shaman etc.) can heal the extra health needed while the priest shield is up.
Discipline priests really shine on raid healing in some fights.

PRIEST: This is a fight for people who are not afraid to anger the main god.

Step 1: Priest are a healing class, which makes them vurile foes in one on one, but you need not worry about that in group pvp.

STEP 2: If they turn dark, you have made them angry and your brain may start to smell like burning. Run quickly away. This situation is what spectral wolf talent is made for.

STEP 3: If you see a golden water fountain occur, you make breathe sigh of releif because your opponent is a child.

I don't really know why, but it would appear that Priests have the least class specific quests during leveling. The only ones we get are one or two between the levels 1-10 and the next one after that comes at level 50, a quest wich every class, while different versions of it, get. That really bugs me, a part about leveling a new class, atleast to me, is seeing new quests and content not being able to be completed on other classes. But hey, maybe that's just me.

Actually, demonich, priests have very good method of escaping. Just bubble, scream, and run! And they do have armor if they aren't too lazy to put Inner Fire on. But my priest is only level 32 so I dont know if they will work with higher levels.

And i'm going to have to disagree with the Shadow spec. I don't see how Improved Shadowform or Veiled Shadows are really going to be helpful. While granted, the 2 minutes off the Shadowfiend CD is nice, mana isn't really an issue with shadowpriests. In my opinion, Inner focus is a far better place to stick atleast one talent point (I've macroed it to my Mind Blast for maximum efficiency.). The last 3 however don't really have any better slots to fill, but take your pick from Shadow Affinity, Imp. Vampiric embrace (For raidwide dmg reduction, not really useful but every little bit helps.) or Imp. Psychic scream and Silence for those random PvP moments (Hey, i'd rather take those two over Imp. Shadowform and Veiled Shadows anyday.). But of course, it's your call. Also, DO NOT USE GLYPH OF SHADOW WORD PAIN. It gives you 1% of your BASE MANA back. And your base mana is somewhere around 5000 (Base mana is your mana without any intellect or buffs what so ever). Use Glyph of Mind Sear or Glyph of Dispersion, depending on your mana situation (Are you running low often).

Useful Priest Macros :

Mind blast while using Inner Focus on every CD. (Inner focus isn't tied to the GCD, so you can macro it to really any spells, but i find Mindblast to get the most use out of it. Replace Mind Blast with your own personal favorite.)

Using trinkets at every CD. This macro maximises the use of your trinkets, so when ever they're off CD and you're fighting, they're most likely going to go off ;). One again, replace Devouring Plague with your spell of choice.

Mindflay / Mind Sear macro. This macro allows you to spam the paint of your keyboard buttons without interrupting your spell casting and starting a new one (This is a must have for lazy priests, but i've heard it might decrease your DPS, but of course the decrease is extremely minor. I've been playing with my priest for a better portion of 3 years now and i haven't noticed a difference, other than the convinience of being able to spam my Mind Flay button =) )

Resurrection macro. This macro announces who you are ressing so the other ressers in the group won't try to resurrect the same person you are. Replace the /p with a /ra if you do a lot of raiding.

In cata I read some where on mmo champ that priest will be able to get shadow form at lvl ten if they go shadow and ive always been put of lvling preist because u need to be 40 to do crazy stuff so now im stuck between a worgan shadow priest or worgan druid can some one help me out

Solo questing is definitely difficult before you get Shadowform

Definitely maybe for you, althou I'm not seeing the need to use that word. Proper level 32 ally Priest can go to Duskwood and go to that farm south of Darkshire where the Worgens are, agrroo them 5 of same level and play with them. I don't see definietly needed in this case. Or any case.

Hopefully this works out well, as someone pointed out "Shadowform at level 10!.

We really wanted to do this, but the more we thought about it, what does a level 10 Shadowform do? Spam Shadow Word: Pain? We'll probably give Shadow priests Mind Flay at level 10 and let them get Shadowform shortly after that.

Currently shadow priests get Mind Flay and some threat and pushback reduction as their level 10 spec bonus (Check the Talent Calculator).

As of now Shadowform is a tier 3 ability, so I guess it will be available at around level 30.

go priest worgen druids are a bad idea cuz unless you roll resto then you will always be shape-shifted there by losing the whole point of rolling a worgen unless you just wanted the racials in that case then yo are 2 into this and should go to therapy

And I have to disagree with your talent choices. ~~Improved Shadowform~~ ~~is acually useful on some fights in ICC when you take constant damage (Think Festergut, Princes on Heroic, Blood-Queen, Sindragosa...)~~.And I really should test things before saying them.
Veiled Shadows is quite handy since our regen is not that high and is better than Dispersion since you don't lose 6 seconds doing nothing.

Shadow Affinity is quite useless, you can use Fade at the begining of a fight to let the tank get some aggro. If you get aggro when you simply do your basic rotation, than it's most likely tank's fault. Improved Vampiric Embrace is a talent that I agree on taking and it helps out since you can easily do about 1000+ healing every 3 seconds or so. Inner Focus is also not that amasing since it's a one free spell once in 3 minutes and the crit bonus won't help you improve your DPS that much I guess.

Also, when you have 3 mobs or less, don't bother yourself with Shadow Word:Pain, it's rather useless and in that GCD you could have used VT on another mob. Shadow Word:Pain is in general a spell you'll want to use on bosses only.

for those that like to track their healing as disc properly, what it does is its a plugin for recount that includes damage absorbed like PW: shield, divine aegis and also paladin's sacred shield

really helps get a better idea of how you stack up vs holy and other healers, because without it, disc healing always is represented the lowest damage healed due to absorbs being in a separate category (not like you cant beat someone on pure healing as disc, its just some people don't realize shielding is just as important as healing in discipline)

Whit cataclysme you gonna kill the strenght of the priest. And you gonna kill what do the difference of all priest on the game.All the priest are different because they dont have the same talents and now you obligate we to chose something who we wont or not really want. You make a big failed whit the talent tree of some class. You have delete the much better talent of the shadow priest for heal ( Improve vampirique embrase) and the best mana reg for PvE (Spirit Tap) and alot of other thing who was great for shadow priest PvP and PvE DPS. I think that be greater before Cataclysme (for the class) and if im obligate to use this new talent tree of b******* i will probably stop to play.And im sure of that i'm not alone to think that.

was trying to figure up what was the amount of gold i needed to save for an alt priest come cataclysm to make sure all the way through leveling, so I did not need to farm for any cash, and for abilities alone i came up with....

Total Cost of all abilities is: 367g 20s 60c

They have a lot of class quests! At level 10 you learn how to use stealth and pick pocket, at 20 you get a quest which used to introduce poisons and at ~ 35 you get your own faction Ravenholt! And at 50 ofc the Sunken Temple ones.

Gonna say that for leveling smite > shadow once again as it has been for quite a while now. What I'm interested in seeing though is whether smite'll be valid at 85. Certainly looks nice with Evangelism and Atonement, especially now that we gain pushback resistance on Smite and Glyph of Divine Accuracy. Really hoping it'll start being as viable as it was in 2.4.3.

Since I saw the new changes of 4.0.1, and on the wait for cataclysm. I leveled a Shadow Priest to kill time. I'll say since the 4.0.1 changes, Shadow priests are pretty easy to level now.

WARNING: Shadow Priests are VERY boring to level at lower levels. Till they hit level 32 and be able to get this Glyph. You will have A LOT of downtime drinking to get your mana back.

From what I stated above, after you get to 32. Leveling/Dungeons become way easier with Shadow Form and the glyph above.

As you start to level and gain more mana recovering moves such as Replenishment, Hymn of Hope, Shadowfiend and Dispersion. Leveling become seriously easier.

PvE wise: Shadow Priests use powerful DoTs such as Vampiric Touch. In addition, they have powerful casting spells as well, such as Mind Blast.

PvP wise: Shadow Priests are nasty little buggers in PvP, there DoTs and powerful casting can bring down most targets really fast. In addition, they have moves such as Mana Burn, Psyshic Scream and Psyshic Horror and many many more.

PvE Solo: When I state "PvE Solo" I'm stating when a Shadow Priests is able to solo many of the group quests set around World of Warcraft. Shadow Priests are ABLE to solo many of the group quests in WoW without a group or need of help because of there shields and powerful heals with the addition of DoTs. In my time as a Shadow Priest, I soloed almost all the group quests alone.

To wrap it all up, Shadow Priests are FUN as they learn new spells. They are a bore fest at the starting areas. They are great in PvE with there powerful DoTs and spells. They are AMAZING in PvP with there DoTs and amazing heals. Myself I have a 80 Shadow Priest right now, with I started on November 1, 2010 and hit 80 in 20 days. Yes it was that much fun how easy and fun it was to level a Shadow priest.

Just remember: Abuse the Dungeon finder, Quest as dungeon finder is looking for a group, Wear BoA gear and have fun. Hopefully I see more Shadow Priests in Cataclysm.

I personally have recently lvl'd a priest and find that Blizzard have overlooked certain details on the discapline spec as with a little tweaking it makes a highly effective DPS spec they could perhaps add an aditional gear set for disc as the current sets do not play to the disc priests full potential.

I know shadow priests boast more DPS than a standard disc priest but thanks to the new tallent tree's a well played Disc can easily give the shadows a run for their money without the inconveniance of not being able to utilise all their spells.

Alright so I've played a holy priest since the release of BC. I don't know how i feel about the new healing methods in Cata. Talents/Procs (I.E. Surge of light, Chakra, and tier 11 4-piece) seem to be built around this new "heal" spell. Right now in Cata, very few people are geared at all so i understand Mana conservation is a problem, so this new low-cost spell is can be very useful, (even though it takes as long as greater heal to cast, but heals half as much as flash heal) but after your character becomes geared, Mana conservation becomes less of a problem, therefore you can concentrate on phat heals more-so than your dwindling mana pool. I know all the rotations to use as a holy priest and the different situations each spell would be best used in so my friends and I would consider me to be a great healer, but i don't really like the way holy is working out in Cata. If surge of light/chakra would be compatible with flash heal as well, that would be amazing... Now for a little of yall's input

I've heard that Shadow Priests' magic stems from psychic abilities. I can't help but wonder; lorewise, is this true? I know, I know, things like Psychic Scream and Psychic Horror should explain themselves, but I haven't read any of the novels, nor have I seen anywhere else that this is true.

Could anybody confirm or deny this?

Really, I'm just geniunely interested. If their shadow magic really does stem from the mind, then that just adds an interesting aspect that just provides coolness from the sidelines, while also not focusing on it too much.

Most enjoyable class yet for me. Dots are insane, while rotation is very simple compared to other classes, it is a blast. I played every class and they did not reach the fun factor of a priest (shadow priest). Just miss the spamming of shadowy apparations lol

I would really like it if they renamed some of the spells

Mind Blast, Mind Flay, Mind Sear, Mind Spike... and then

Mental Domination (정신 지배)
Mental Haze () - cloud the target's mind instead of soothing it
Telepathic Vision (마음의 눈)

This way 'Mind' spells are all damage spells.

Also, they could make:

Holy Word: Renew (소생)... to be inline with all other tree equivalent spells (Power Word: Shield & Shadow Word: Pain)

Holy Word: Aspire (회복의 기원)... how can a prayer be instant cast? And so it would benefit from reducing it's cooldown to 7 sec.

Mass Heal (치유의 기원)... to be inline with all our other base heals (Flash Heal, Heal, Greater Heal & Binding Heal)

Prayer of Hope (희망의 상징) &
Divine Prayer (천상의 찬가)... cause singing Hymns in battle sounds strange imo so 'Prayer' would replace it as a channelled spell with long cooldown.

Focused Power ()... so that 'Inner' remains a term for priest armours (Fire & Will - or you could rename them to Armour of Devotion & Armour of Virtue respectively)

Power Word: Alacrity (마력 주입)... to add to existing Power Words (Shield, Fortitude & Barrier)

Shadow Word: Silence (침묵)... to add to existing Shadow Words (Pain & Death)

If you`re planning on leveling a priest in the near future then rejoice.

The priest has become one of the most easiest classes to level if not the easiest, but with a twist ! Forget what you know about shadowpriest leveling cause its obsolete.

Discipline spec has become significantly superior in cata, specifically these : Atonement , Reflective Shield and Evangelism. These right here allows you to solo ALL 3man quests and provided you got heirlooms even some 5man ( Durn anyone? ) !

But dont think thats it. Every talent in the disc tree screams "so what if I`m a cloth class? I actually have more survivability than most plate wearers" and by every talent I mean literally e v e r y _ t a l e n t

I cant fathom why would anyone still want to level as shadowpriest when disc is just.. overwhelmingly superior.

i totally agree with hanzo. i rolled a priest with a thought that being a shadow, lvl-ing up would be faster. however, after being absent from wow for 3 years ( travelling ) i discovered it is much faster lvl-ing up being discipline since we can easily q as a healer which only requires 1-2 mnts wait. i started my priest last week, and i only have played on the week ends only and now it already lvl 56 ( big lol, as i level up much faster compared to other DPS class especially since i am a healer ). to make matters more interesting, i only discovered the map of orgrimmar, Thunder bluff, and cross roads. lol i don't even know where should i go for questing any longer.

although people say that discipline is better for pvp, i think holy is just as good, i managed to get the achieve for 100 arenas in holy with a prot pally, i may not pvp anymore but i personally think it's just as good, and i've tried both

It's nice to see blizz make an attempt to fix shadow word death with the new Tier 13 set bonus however it's more or less a band aid and only fixes it for T13 with the bonus. They're needs to be a more permanent fix to the backlash of SWD we can't even use it in most cases or it will simply kill us. Most fights the last 25% alot of raid dmg is going out and it's a straight burn. And for Domo style fights it simply hits soo hard we get killed.

A simple solution fix and still keeps the fact you need to be aware when to use it still is that it can't kill you but only take you down to 1% health. So you will still need fast heals if you take any dmg but the spell itself won't kill you. You could implement this into the spell or itemize it using a glyph.

Forgive me if I posted in the wrong place I'm just trying to get some attention from blizz on possible fixes of a half broken spell. Other classes that have a 25% kill spell dont worry about killing themselves in the process.

I have a horde priest, but I'm thinking of switching factions and making her alliance. Question is, what races make the best priest? If I had to make a guess, I would probably say either Human or Gnome. Any other thoughts on that?

Priests are the least commented class on wowhead right now... I wonder, are they also the least played class? :S I know that dwarves are the least played race... and if someone is a dwarf priest, then they are the rarest combo...

I have a lvl 34 Dwarf Priest on the Underbog server. (Lost desktop 2 years ago, havn't been able to level him, don't judge me! >_<)

I hate to bust your bubble of hope there, but fat chance. Orcs focus more on DPS (Hunters, Rogues, Mages, Warlocks) and Tanking (mostly Warriors and DKs), with only one healing alt; Shaman(s). Orcs are the only race in general that doesn't have this class because of their warlike and shamanic personality.

VERY fun class to play especially as a gnome. I like holy my self in pve and in pvp i will go mostly disc but might switch to shadow once in a while and shadow is hard with mana at lower levels (as it prolly is with most classes - DPS wise) but as you level up it gets better.

I have leveled up a few priests in my time of playing WoW, and they're very fun to me. I love to heal, and this class is perfect for me. I play all three specs and here is my input on them.

Discipline:

This is a fantastic healing spec. Putting points into Atonement really help in the healing, as you're most likely going to be bored anyway standing around while waiting for your bubble to disappear of your party members. The extra mana gained from choosing this talent tree is amazing for leveling with, as you will be able to last longer in fights, and in Mana-tombs. When gained Power Infusion, you will be able to cast it upon yourself (or another desired player) to increase your cast speed and reducing mana cost of spells, so you'll be able to pull off more damage/healing in fights.
When soloing, this spec is great for the shield absorb and for the penance damage. Since you do not need to change into a Shadow Form, you can heal and deal damage without worrying to click an extra button.

Holy:

I have not come across many well-played Holy Priests, but they are easy enough to get a handle on. When leveling (once you gain the Chakra spell), you stay on the single target (Serenity) Chakra for better heals. When you settle down on leveling, or get to higher dungeons that require more area of effect healing, Chakra: Sanctuary is really useful. For the Chakra: Chastise, fights such as Chimaeron in Blackwing Descent are in need of this Chakra (since healing is reduced by 99%).
For raiding, I think this spec is handy for most fights inside of (current content) Dragon Soul. There's a real advantage for the Chakra: Sanctuary on Ultraxion, due to so much AoE damage. As for fights such as Yor'sahj the Unsleeping in Dragon Soul, Chakra: Serenity is really useful because of his debuff.

Shadow:

Shadow is wonderful, easy damage. I recommend dotting up your target, then using Mind Flay for maximum damage. If you're looking to burn real fast, Mind Spike is helpful.

5.4 Changes

General

희망의 상징 now prefers to target healers when it grants mana. Healers will always be picked before non-healers, regardless of how much mana they have.
신의의 도약 no longer has a facing requirement.
어둠의 권능: 죽음 now deals 15% more damage.
어둠의 권능: 고통 now deals 25% more damage.

Discipline

can no longer be dispelled.
환희 now energizes the Priest for 100% of the mana cost of 신의 권능: 보호막/ When the shield is fully consumed or is dispelled (used to energize the Priest with mana equal to 150% of their spirit). This is the modified mana cost for 신의 권능: 보호막, after being reduced by Rapture’s passive effect.
혼의 너울 duration has been reduced to 10 seconds (down from 15 seconds), and the damage absorption shield's effectiveness can now be reduced through Battle Fatigue.

Holy

mana cost reduced to 3.8% (down from 6.3%), and now functions like a smart heal, healing the 6 most injured friendly targets within range, and minor guardians are no longer targeted (Wild Imps, Bloodworms, Snakes from Snake Traps, etc.). There has been no change to the total amount of healing granted by the ability.
Lightspring is now baseline for all Holy Priests and the ability has been renamed to .
빛의 권능's mana cost reduction has been increased to 20% per stack (up from 10% per stack), and no longer displays a spell effect when in the UI when it's active.

Shadow

now increases the Priest's armor by 60%, but no longer reduces all damage taken by 15%.

후광’s healing is no longer affecting by diminishing returns when used on multiple targets.
환각의 마귀 now deals 10% more damage, and mana return has been increased by 20%.

Glyph of Dark Binding's effect is now baseline and has been replaced with 까맣게 탄 문양.
까맣게 탄 문양 causes 회복의 기원 to only bounce between the target and the caster.

까맣게 탄 문양 now reduces the cooldown on without reducing its duration.
Glyph of Lightspring has been renamed to 까맣게 탄 문양.

까맣게 탄 문양 causes to heal for 50% more, but no longer automatically heal targets. Allies can click on the to heal.

Glyph of Lightwell has been renamed to 까맣게 탄 문양.

까맣게 탄 문양 increases the number of charges on by 2.

New Minor Glyphs

까맣게 탄 문양 causes the Priest's healing spells to momentarily grant angelic wings.
문양: 격려의 찬가: A spirit appears above the Priest while channeling Hymns.
까맣게 탄 문양: 공허의 전환 causes the Priest and their target to exchange appearances for several seconds.
문양: 샤 Transforms the Priest's 어둠의 마귀 and 환각의 마귀 into a Sha Beast.

Class Armor

Discipline/Holy PvP 2-piece set bonus' (4-piece set bonus pre-Season 12) 신성한 불똥 effect can no longer be dispeled.
Shadow PvP 4-piece set bonus is no longer an area-of-effect and only affects the character that dispels 흡혈의 손길.

Bug Fix

Fixed an issue where was not increasing the critical effect chance of , 천상의 별, and 후광.

5.3 Changes

General

신의 권능: 인내 had its mana cost reduced to 1%, down from 4.4%.
대규모 무효화 no longer dispels magic effects that are normally undispellable. Cast time has been decreased to 0.5 seconds, down from 1.5 seconds for Discipline and Holy Priests.
공허의 전환 had its cooldown decreased to 5 minutes, down from 6 minutes for Discipline and Holy Priests. For Shadow Priests, cooldown has been increased to 10 minutes (), up from 6 minutes, and the spell is no longer usable while in Arenas or Rated Battlegrounds.

Glyphs

까맣게 탄 문양 has been redesigned and no longer reduces cast time. The glyph now enables Mass Dispel to dispel magic effects that are normally undispellable.
까맣게 탄 문양 no longer causes the additional 20% damage dealt by 성스러운 일격 to transfer into 속죄.
Fixed an issue where 까맣게 탄 문양's movement speed increase was not stacking correctly.

Discipline

속죄 now heals nearby friendly targets for 90% of the damage dealt, down from 100%.
now reduces the cast or channel time of the next Priest spell by 15% after casting 신의 권능: 보호막 (was 15% spell haste).
회개 now deals 10% less damage, but healing done is increased by 10%.

Holy

천상의 찬가 now targets 12 raid members (up from 5) each time it heals when used in a 25-player instance.

Shadow

흡혈의 선물 now has a healing cap of 15 raid members (up from 6) when used in a 25-player instance.

Patch 5.2 Changes (Source)

The amount of healing done by 순간 치유, 결속의 치유, 소생, and 회복의 기원 have been reduced by 20%.
is a new passive ability obtained by Discipline and Holy Priests at level 10. This ability increases the amount of healing done by 순간 치유, 결속의 치유, 소생, and 회복의 기원 by 25%. For Holy and Discipline Priests, there is no change to the amount of healing done by those four spells.
's stacking effect now also increases the healing of 회개.
후광 will no longer hit enemies that are in stealth
's 혼의 너울 can no longer be dispelled.
정신 지배 now has a 1.8 second cast time (was 2.5 seconds).
천사의 깃털 now has a 6 second duration (was 4 seconds).

의지 집중 is now a passive for Holy priests as well as Discipline priests.
Power Word: Solace has been replace with a new talent: .

For Holy and Discpline, Power Word: Solace replaces 신성한 불꽃. It deals the same damage, and interacts with other spells and abilities in the same manner, but is instant, costs no mana, and restores 1% of maximum mana on each cast.
For Shadow, this ability causes Mind Flay to gain the Insanity effect when it's cast on a target with 3 Shadow damage-over-time spells on it. Insanity increases the damage of 정신의 채찍 by 33% per Shadow Orb consumed.

까맣게 탄 문양 only works from 정신의 쐐기s that aren't instant casts from Surge of Darkness.
Glyph of Desperation has been replaced with 까맣게 탄 문양. 고통 억제 and 수호 영혼 can now always be cast while stunned.
New Glyph: 까맣게 탄 문양 applies 결속의 치유 a third nearby friendly target, but costs 35% more mana.
Glyph of Inner Focus has been replaced with 까맣게 탄 문양. Casting now always grants 5 seconds of immunity to Silences, Interrupts, and Dispels.
New Glyph: 까맣게 탄 문양 reduces the duration of 약화된 영혼 by 2 seconds.

신성한 불꽃 is now an instant cast ability.
까맣게 탄 문양 has been redesigned. It now increases the range of 신성한 불꽃, 성스러운 일격, and 신의 권능: 위안 by 10 yards.
환상 no longer makes the Priest untargetable by ranged attacks, and the movement impairing immunity effect is now 5 seconds (was 3 seconds).

Discipline

의지 집중 now reduces damage taken by 15% per stack, with a limit of 2 stacks.
혼의 너울 no longer benefits from Mastery, and now properly includes the benefits of and critical effect chance.
회개 damage and healing has been increased by 20%.
Rapture now reduces the cost of 신의 권능: 보호막 by 25% and provides mana equal to 150% (was 200%) of the Priest's Spirit, but no longer benefits from Spirit provided by short-duration bonuses.

Shadow

정신 분열 damage has been increased by 20%.
Dispersion now belongs to the Shadow spell school.

The 2-piece Holy/Discipline PvP set bonus is now the previous 아이템 - 사제 PvP 세트 수양/신성 4P 보너스 4-piece bonus, instead of 신성한 불똥.
The 4-piece Holy/Discipline PvP set bonus has been redesigned. It now reduces the cooldown of Chakra by 25 seconds. When 혼의 너울 is active the mana cost of Flash Heal is reduced by 50%.

Mists of Pandaria Changes

New level 87 ability: 공허의 전환. You and the currently targeted party or raid member swap health percentages. Increases the lower health percentage of the two to 25% if below that amount.
마력 주입 is now a talent for all specs, but it can only be self-cast.
Level 90 talents: , 천상의 별, 후광.
Other notable new talents include 신의 권능: 위안 and 환각의 마귀.
is now a passive talent and the wings from are Discipline only. replicates the effect for Shadow.
Some DPS abilities healers could formerly use, like 정신의 쐐기, are now Shadow-only.
정신의 채찍 doesn't refresh 어둠의 권능: 고통.

Discipline Changes:

New ability: 혼의 너울. For the next 15 sec, your Heal, Flash Heal, Greater Heal, and Prayer of Healing no longer heal but instead create absorption shields that last 15 sec.
is Discipline only and no longer grants mana.
신의 권능: 보호막 will not be able to be as liberally applied due to mana regeneration changes. 환희 removes the cooldown of PW:S, but the overall regeneration will be lower in MoP than in Cata initially.

Chakras are on a shared 30 second cooldown. In addition, two have been slightly changed: and .

Shadow Changes:

is a resource that has been reworked. Generated by Mind Blast and Shadow Word: Death. Used to cast Devouring Plague and empower Psychic Horror. Formerly, when the priest casts Mind Blast or Mind Spike, all Shadow Orbs are consumed, each increasing the spell damage done.
신의 권능: 위안, a level 45 talent, converts into in Shadow: Consumes your Shadow Word: Pain to deal 2482 to 2618 (+ 243% of SpellPower) Shadow damage to the target. Only usable while Shadow Word: Pain has less than 6 sec remaining.
is greatly reworked. It now costs to cast, scales with the amount of consumed, and is a shorter DoT.
흡혈의 선물 is now a 3 min cooldown instead of a passive buff. Fills you with the embrace of Shadow energy, causing you and your allies to be healed for 50% of any single-target Shadow spell damage you deal, split evenly between them. Lasts 15 sec.

A fact I believe over looked is that in shadow there are now 3 Holy spells that can be cast. One w/o glyphs (as far as i can tell) 2 with a 까맣게 탄 문양

I am able to cast 신의 권능: 보호막 in and can find no documentation of why this is possible since it is clearly stated in that you can't cast Holy spells (also noted on this page).

During vanilla, I was constantly switching classes, trying to find the perfect one for me. I tried 성기사, 사냥꾼, 주술사, and 도적, but none of them stuck to me. Then I tried priest..oh boy.

This class was amazing in vanilla! It still is! A deadly ranged class that used shadows and diseases to destroy it's opponent! Or a godly healer class that could either use prayer or pure light for salvation. I loved leveling up with my priest, going into dungeons to heal or kill. This class was my path into WoW, and for that I am thankful I chose 사제,

My Thoughts on Priest

My first alt that stayed around and reached high levels was a Priest. More specifically a Discipline Priest. I quickly fell in love with the uniqueness of the spec and class. Today besides my main, which is a Marksman Hunter, my Discipline Priest is my favorite toon.

If anyone wants to give healing a chance I would recommend a Disc Priest. I have never tried Holy, but I do kind of like Shadow and may end up dual speccing my Priest just so she can have a dps build and a healing build.

i am posting my very first question. that being said, i would like to know any tips (outside of the guides that i have been looking at extensively), i.e. priority you have found not outlined in said guides or comfort and such in playing a druid healer. the reason being my main is a spriest and my second a #$%^&*! (for about 7+ years i have always wanted to play a druid but i keep giving up and deleting my little druid girls and now i feel committed. of course my decision came right b4 blizz implemented the recycle button and so instead of bringing back my last lvl 70ish druid i have to start from scratch lol. no biggie though because i welcome learning my new toon from point blank. ok so i have the lvl'ng gear for her she is at 50 but will 100 in 2 days(instance power lvl'g for the win huzzah! so then what i have my mods (healbot etc the usge) i am asking the pros to give your thoughts please also keep in mind that i could end up on your pug raid pissing you off cause of that one thing you wish i had known and i do not want to upset my tank! i want to thank everyone for all imput in advance :-) i would like to add that at the lvl im at i have not yet been responsible for a wipe and i am loving it :-D i felt the need to add that because i healed with my priest through wotlk and icc still makes me shudder.

I would just like to throw in my love for my disc priest. I know we have taken some hits and people like to comment in LFR about how low disc priests are on healing meters... But check out those absorbs man, that is some sexy absorption!
Love aside, I have a legitimate question. What are some of your favorite mana regen techniques? I hate sacrificing the Surge of Light talent for the improved shadowfiend (and am extremely upset that you now have to talent into mana gaining shadowfiends...) because those quick, instant flash of lights have proven to be amazing!

I've seem some amazing priests in game and on videos like Youtube. I've played all classes, to max. level (currently 110). I can't enjoy being a priest.

I thought maybe discipline would be the type of healing I might reveal myself as being good at but sadly this did not happen, I'm no better at healing through atonement as I am any other way. I can hardly heal to save my own life no matter the class, let alone anyone else so that's two specs out.

And shadow is being a caster in the weakest type of armor. Everything seems to happen too slowly on my end or too fast coming at me, especially in larger numbers and I end up in trouble, not having much fun at all and dying more often than I can accept as normal. My numbers are well below what I would want them to be compared to other classes I play and I struggle. Some people are amazing as priests, I am not one of them. Not dissing on the class, I just know it's me. Something in me just isn't clicking with the play style of the damage dealing caster and once I get my priest to max level (and in the case of Legion, the priest campaign completed) I will sit him out until the level cap is raised once more. It's a bit sad as I'd much prefer having fun playing my priest as much as I do all the other classes but I can not fathom this happening anytime soon.

Each class in Legion has a long class hall quest chain — campaign. During that chain you'll raise your power and power of your class hall. You'll train followers, gear them, research your artifact and other things. Each class has diferent campaign, only few quests are the same.

Hi, I'm playing disc priest now IL 927, I had no problems with mana for all the way up until last night I went from 917 to 927 item level, changed a few items, even added some gems for intellect, haste and mastery and today somehow my mana gets depleted so fast. I never used a mana flask on a raid before now I have to use one after each boss. I even runned out of mana on one. In case you want to take a look my char is Lutecia from Drakkari server. I don't know if I did something or an update made something but its a huge difference. Any ideas? Thanks!
