This - for some reason - took a bit to figure out. You need to collect fish, these fish are found in schools off the coast of the isle of spears in the southern region where you cross over to the isle w/ the Scalawag Point on it. These schools have a use icon over them so, go pick up 2 or 3 schools worth of fish.

Now that you have the fish, you have to be able to get a Bull to the Cow. To do this stand 20 yards from the bull on the isle with the scalawag point on it - and throw the bull a fish. Once you do this he will run at you. Back up 20 more yards and throw another fish, each time you throw one he'll run to the pt you were standing at, so continue to back up until you are able to stand on the isle of the spears and on a rock w/ a cow on it. The two should have hearts over their heads and you should get quest credit.

standing at max range each time i threw, 6 was not quite enough. thankfully he stayed there for a while as i ran down another one (only school i saw had a shark instead and it took 3 shark kills before one dropped)

Just to clarify on the location of the schools, when I did it, they weren't along the coast where you would normally fish, but further out by the sharks. Also, the 20 yard range wasn't accurate; I had to stand in the school to net them.

Using the net on a school of fish may also spawn a Great Reef Shark instead of yielding fish.

You have to have done the quest for the North Sea Pirates that tells you to kill Big Roy before you can get this quest.

It takes about 6-8 of these Tasty Reef Fish to finish the quest, so you may as well get them all before you do it. Also note that you can't track these schools with the find fish ability and when you turn in the quest, any leftover Tasty Reef Fish will be automatically deleted from your inventory. Don't waste time trying to save up for the next day.

Unfortunately atm i noticed (my case) that being Hated with Bloodsail Pirates wont let you start the quest to activate then 3rd daily! I also tried killing the mob and the Quest Giver. Nothing.
Anyone know if it unlocks in some way except having to turn rep back to friendly with pirates?

Hunters need to have their pets on *passive* for this Daily! When tossing a fish at the bull, your pet will consider that an 'attack', and thus attack the thing you are feeding. Thus one-shotting it and wasting your fish. And your bull!

First time I attempted this quest I didn't have enough fish to lure the Bull the full distance. After feeding him a couple fish I set out to collect more. A few minutes later I get credit for completion while still harvesting fish.

Apparently someone else lured the Bull the rest of the way while trying to complete their quest and I got the credit; unsure if they received credit also.

I don't know about 5 fish but it took me quite many. I believe you should get at least 10 before you start to go to the reef bull. The reef bull is on the Scalawag Point shoreline.

The Swedish Chef Fish Toss is actually not a LoS spell, so you can face the cow you're heading towards instead of trying to back up to it. Just drop the fish on your hotbar and it'll go grey/red/whatever when you're out of range, back up a step, toss, repeat.

You have to start this quest chain - Orfus of Kamagua before you can go do the quest.

Otherwise, you'll just still be hated by the whole camp, since you can't just do the one quest and have it over with.

It seems this quest doesn't shop up in the minimap at lvl 80. I had to use the low level quest tracking to find it. Even then I noticed the exclamation mark was yellow, not blue.

Just an FYI, I tried using the net on some schools, yet got no fish. However, abandoning the quest and picking it up again solved that issue. Figured I would post just someone wound up with the same problem

Just to be clear, the quest description says to have at least 12 fish, but that is overkill. It is very easy to complete with 6 fish, just make sure you are at max throwing range each time. Also, to reiterate what was posted above by Kurasu: Hunters (and presumably Warlocks) need to have their pets on passive, or you will end up wasting a fish and killing your target.

Hehe, this quest does NOT need 12 fish, it doesn't even need six, all it needs is ONE.

For those with slightly less pure hearts, and have no morality issues over this can pwn this quest in a about 1 min.

Just go up to any school, net, go to bulls. Now, don't feed yet, just regular kite em over to the cows, and don't kill em. Once over there, THEN feed 1 fish. the now friendly bull will "find his true love" with the cow you just kited him to. Sometimes, sure, you may have not kited enough, but ya know what, each net yields more than 1 fish =D, just in case.

everyone talking about doing w/e prequests, forgets that they are alliance (i assume since no info has been helpfull for me as horde).

I cannot get the Kalu'ak daily quest in Howling Fjord as horde. And i did the other daily's and im 9800/12000 Honored.

For those confused as to why this quest isn't readily available is because there are prerequisites to complete first.

You need to start by talking to Orfus which starts a long quest chain and leads to Scalawag Point. Complete Street "Cred" then head over to the north ship in the same area and complete Swabbin' Soap. Once that is done, you have access to this daily quest.

Once you're level 80 this quest turns into a "low level quest" and won't show up with a blue exclamation mark.

If you talk to Anuniaq he will still give you the quest, and you can complete it for the full 500 reputation and 4g70s.

For some reason this currently don't show up as a repeatable quest for me (meaning no blue !).

The quest however is available as a daily but the questgiver only shows it if you talk to him there it will show up as "The Way to His Heart... (low level)".

Not sure if it's just an issue for me.

(Oh I see someone else mentioned that already)

This is not entirely true. Yes, your pet will attack the bull on the coast, but when you throw a fish to a bull, it creates a 'friendly' version that will follow you for the quest.

If doing this daily at level 80, you will not see the blue ! over the quest giver's head since it is considered a low-level quest.

You can do this quest with as little as 2 fish. Attack the bull, and pull it towards the cow. Throw a fish around the halfway mark before it leashes and runs back to it's rock. Attack and pull a cow towards the attracted bull. Use the second fish to bring the bull to you (you should be getting meleed by the cow) and you'll get credit.

I did the quest with only one fish. Attack Reef Cow and kite her to the other side of the river, than throw Reef Bull a fish.

After quest complete, you can kill Reef Cow or just runaway. I usually kill her, time is money, friend!

If you're level 80 doing the three Kalu'ak dailies for exalted status, Anuniaq has neither a blue nor yellow exclamation mark over his head (the other two Kalu'ak daily quest givers do have exclamation marks). So the first time you repeat this quest at 80, it helps to turn on Low Level Quests tracking.

The Attracted Reef Bull is tagged to whoever spawned it by throwing the first fish at a Reef Bull. They are the ONLY person who gets credit for the quest, regardless of who does the rest of the work. Found this out when trying to do the quest in a party with a friend. If you have a lot of leftover fish, offer to help out someone else.

Using the net will fail more often than not (as in, the school will disappear and you will get no fish) if you are turning at any time during the channeling. I tend to start using a quest item and then right-click to turn around looking for the next one, but I had to train myself to not do that for this quest. So, if you're frequently not getting any fish, make sure that you don't turn until the net "spell" completes. (This, of course, has nothing to do with the chances of getting a shark instead of quest fish.)

Even though this becomes a daily after completion, it counts as a low level quest once you're level 80. It does, however, grant the 500 reputation reward just like the other 2 dailies for this faction, so don't fret.

Heres a tip on how to use the minimum amount of fish.
Put the Tasty Fish on your action bar. There will be a small red dot for if it is out of range of the bull or not. Edge in towards it until the red dot disappears, and this makes you at maximum range.

I use only 6 or 7 fish each time, its all you need.

I just did it with five (5) fish. I used the bull that was..I believe 3rd from the the far left if you're facing south, and led him to the cow directly across from it. It might even be possible to do it with four (4) using this method.

EDIT: It was 3rd from the far left, not 2nd.

You actually only need 1 fish. The easiest way to get the bull to the Cow is attacking the bull and bring him to the Cow's side.
Just aggro a bull and let him attack you whilst you walk to the opposite shore, where the cow is, and then throw him a fish.

It's a good idea to go unarmed. Using no weapon you will be sure not to kill the bull before reaching the opposite shore. Steps:

get 1 fish
go unarmed
aggro a bull
go to the opposite shore
throw him a fish
completed :-)

If you kept your Worg Disguise by canceling Brother Betrayers and have either Levitate or Water Walking you can use the the disguise + buff to run from fish pool to fish pool at +80% run speed. Saves a bit of time for this daily for me. Daily.

The sharks drop one or two, you should be able to get four to five from the schools. Plus, schools do not bite back. Rarely, netting a school, will atract a shark instead..

Anuniaq - 24.6, 58.9 QuestGiver (will give you a net to catch the Tasty Reef Fish)

Tasty Reef Fish - 37,69 area - get on or in the school and use the Net supplied. Pick up fish (one will do)

Bulls - 32, 74 (on the shoreline) attack one and run towards the cows. The bull will reset if you go too far, so throw the fish at him once he reaches about half way (and you are on the cow side to bring him even closer). He will become friendly. and remain where you were when you threw the fish.

Cows - 31,72 (on the shoreline) With the bull already a bit over half way accross the water area between the shores, attack a cow and run back to the bull.

Quest completes when the two get next to each other. You will have to kill the cow unless you want to run away -- easier to kill it.

There is a BIG flat rock island just to the cow side of the gap, if you get the bull near that rock, the cow will pull to you nicely.

Since patch 3.0.8 rolled out, looks like they increased the level of this quest to 80 and increased the money earned. Just got 7g 40s for it! Used to only get the 4g70s listed above. Oh, the other cool thing is that since it's level 80, it actually shows me a blue (!) now when I come to the quest giver. Used to not since it was considered a "low level quest."

Fish are all around 29,74 near the sharks. You dont have to kill the sharks, the pools are all around and they constantly respawn. I got 3-5 fish per throw. Also there were many pools all over, but they are not at the shore like regular pools of fish. You actually gotta go into the water a bit.

HORDE: In order to unlock this daily quest you must first talk to Orfus of Kamagua at the Ancient Lift in Howling Fjord, (40.3, 60.3) and pick up the quest: http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11504. That will lead to http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11507 >> http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11508 >> http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11509 >> http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11510. Once "Scoodles" is complete Scuttle Frostprow will no longer be hostile and you will be able to pick up http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11469. Once "Swabbin' Soap" is complete the daily will show up. If it's not at that time make sure you turn on your "Track Low Level Quests" on your minimap.

Hunters, remember to keep your pet on passive before throwing the fish. It is considered (and i really dont know why) an attack and your pet will go aggro on the bull, making you waste your first fish.

I didn't see a straight forward post on this and I was lost/confused so here it goes:

If you're like me and level 80 and never quested in the Howling Fjord you're a little lost when it comes to unlocking this daily.
First you must do Orfus of Kamagua (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11573), the quest giver is located at 32.3, 46.8; just south-east for those of you without coords.
The link is the first step in a quest chain, each one giving Kalu'ak rep but if you're only concerned with unlocking this daily you can stop after completing Grezzix Spindlesnap (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11508).

From there pick up Swabbin' Soap (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=11469) at 37.8, 79.6 from Scuttle Frostprow. After completion of this quest the daily will be unlocked.

Note: This is from an Alliance point of view. I found on another post that the Horde can go straight to Orfus to start the chain at The Ancient Lift; 40.3, 60.3. Sorry for those of you that play Horde that I can't be certain on this.

Just a tip, these are hard to see on your flying mount, if u go just under the surface of the water you can see the schools of fish that are orange. Use your net. These are NOT clickable like first poster said.

I was doing this quest today when i tossed my first fish to a bull it said "A Lion Seal has become alerted to your presence and is bellowing a warning." Well i couldn't find the lion seal anywhere near the bulls, no idea why it did that lol.

If you are like me and was lazy and tried to find fish schools with ur fish tracking, it won't show up on ur map as a little yellow dot...so you may as well go into the water and start swimming...

The way to his heart can go through HER stomach - meaning Mercy - if you don't pay attention! If you do this as daily quest mounted on your whatever animal, like i do being a dk with most(all) talents in unholy, you can just walk on your Path of Frost("The Death Knights freezing aura.."). Here fishing goes like shopping around
since schools of fish create spores on thw surface. There is however a price to be paid if you don't watch out. Mercy is sailing its round starting from
Garvans Reef(37,42) about where fish is often spawning too. Don't let Mercy drive over you. If you see the inside of Mercy with murlocs and guns it's already too late. You may have earned your Darwin Award for NPC's-from-other-quest-death.
The ship believes that you are on board of the lover deck, and there you are somewhere on it. The 8 angry murlock haven't most likely noticed you so far,
so you can hearthstone away from Mercy. If you are close to stairs, you just walk away. Since you're earning only 5g90s from this daily(+20950XP), this can be pretty serious moonlight. So better dance away from Mercy. She'll chew you up.(Schwesterdk, udead dk, lvl 75, 100% unholy talent build)

Death Knights:
Path of Frost and walk over to get fish by clicking your net within 10 yard range of the schools.
Target a bull, place the fish in your action bars, click fish, walk a little, click fish, walk a little. Voila.
Mount up and bask in the pure superiority that is Death Knight.

Aggroed and Taunted (aggro without doing damage with Dark Command ability) bulls and cows just yell, and don't move.
You can not kite them to the other side by traditional means anymore. Quest mobs are stationary and very, very noisy.

I was personally curious how long these quests took and how much the average return was, so I'll be compiling these on an ongoing basis (mainly among rep quests exc. Sons of Hodir):

Stats are for a level 80 protection warrior in decent gear (badge/heroic) w/ epic flyer. Times are from acceptance to turn-in. YMMV

I love this quest, mainly as I think sea lion love is weird but kinda cute! U go collect fish using the net provided.You then click a reef bull and throw a fish at him, then u walk backwards continuing to throw fish at him, walk back to the side of the river with the cows on it and complete! Then u can see the sea lions that fall in love, kinda cute! I suggest collecting about 8 -12 fish, just 2 be sure, however Don't stock up as they get deleted when you hand this quest in.

This quest is a really really easy daily to make some rep with the Kalu'ak. Just look for the 2 Reef walrus things that are really close and get 5 fish. You don't need more than 5 fish to do this. Just be sure you pull the walrus in a straight line to the Reef Bull and tadah xP

Don't try this with your pet (Warlock w/ Felguard in my case) set to Defensive. When you throw the fish to the Bull, pet will attack and kill him! Ooops.

Do able in 6-7.
As a rule of thumb, i'd say to take 10.
That way you'll almost always make it regardless of angle etc.

Quick tip: To make it easier to see the schools of Tasty Reef Fish, go underwater (submerge) and swim around the place.

You can easily do the quest with only 1 of the fish need to attract the Reef Bull. Just attack one, kite him to the cow, then throw a fish at him. Quest will be completed, due fish can be dropped in combat and the Bull reacts to them. So dont bother gathering 4-5 fish. (I've just done it, not a theory, but a fact.)

I found lots of theese pink small fish schools SW of the sound was giving up on finding them, and while I was swiming under water I saw some pink fishes, so I got near them and used my net under water, and got 4 fishes =)

If it was not clear enough, the sound between the GIRLS and the GUYS.. or even simpler, the 2 islands.

Ok this quest can be a hundred times easier for people who aren't dk's.

The path of frost is a great idea but for those who do not have this ability you can use http://www.wowhead.com/item=8827 and then just get back on your flying mount and go to the next reef fish school and then go to your reef bull.

Finish quest. :D Easy as pie.

FYI damage cancels the effect of this elixir. I usually get it in the http://www.wowhead.com/item=46007. Hope this helps.

everybody has to get the fish and fling it once. but after that you can have one guy lure or share the flinging duties you will have plenty of fish.

in the group only one player gets credit, apparently the last one to fling the fish. i was not able to test the possibility of having multiple players fling on the last leg. that might work. but you might need an assist macro to do it.

I just ran four freaking times back and forth between the stupid cows and the fish reefs to get all the fish I needed and when I finally got the cow to the other side he just vanished! Now I need to do it all over again.

Funny... I cant stack up the damn fishes. When I have collected ONE fish from a shark and then try to use the net. I get zero fished. And if I kill ten more sharks. Not a single fish... So I need to run all the way back, use that one fish, and hope that the next collection of fishes contain more then one...

To do this daily quest you need to make sure you've completed this quest line...

Then you can talk to Scuttle Frostprow and accept the quest 'Swabbin' Soap' 걸레질 비누

Once that is completed the daily quest 'The Way to His Heart...' will become available!

The first quest that you will do for him is called
"The Dead Rise!"

located at 40,60 at the very top of the Ancient
Lift in Howling Fjord.

You must do the whole chain of quests up to
"Street Cred" which will take you over to see
"silvermoon" Harry at Scalawag Point (35,80)

Once you are done that go and do the quest
"Swabbin' Soap" at 37,79

I found Scuttle Frostprow on the boat just off the shore.

This quest gives much more guild XP than other quests in Northrend. At 85, I get 40 guild reputation for this daily, while even the Argent Tournament dailies give less than 20.

This appears to be out of date as far as how much rep is rewarded. It rewards 500 rep (550 with guild perk 10% bonus).

Upon finishing this quest today, I was given 500 rep, plus the extra 10% from Mr. Popularity. I presume that number has also been inflated for the other kalu-ak daily quests, so exalted shouldn't take nearly as long now. Yay!

I'm going back to complete these quests to unlock the leather working recipe for the Trapper's Traveling Pack. As of December 2012, this is the largest leather working bag in the game. Also, the fishing pole these guys sell is the best, too. Even the one you can buy from Nate Pagle at exalted is not as good. Some of the quests leading up to the daily give you Kalu'ak rep ranging from 500-763 at level 90. Not too shabby compared to the Panda dailies that give a mere 250 or so a quest. It's worth the time investment.

This quest is now a daily quest that levels per your character. Picked it up at level 87 and got 141k xp and 10g. The other two Kalu'ak quests have not been upgraded at this time.

They seem to have nerfed the old easy way of doing this quest, which was to taunt or hit a cow and then kite it across the land bridge before tossing a single fish to the bull. Now, the cows won't leave their rocks even if you attack them. You have to get 5-6 fish and lure the bull across.

This quest becomes much more easy if you use the Anglers Fishing Raft. I got my tasty fish quickly and you can also use it when you move the bull to the cow, if you can't find the way to walk over.

Just to re-confirm.....after doing the WHOLE Kalu'ak quest chain, you HAVE to do the quest Swabbin' Soap to unlock this daily. I did it just now & the daily unlocked for me as I'd hoped. Hope this helps.

If you time it just right, you can kill the cow after the bull falls in love with her. He stays in love and you complete the quest, but you get to loot and skin her. Haven't tried to kill the bull yet. One more day until I can get my fishing pole, so will try to multi-shot them both tomorrow.

As a level 100 shadow priest undead to boot, how do you collect silver moon Harry's gambling debt without killing him. Glyph of reflective shield I thought would work but once he runs out of mana he can't hit me. And doing melter on him with all my gear off kills him because of my "touch of the grave" procs. It's very frustrating

The Tasty Fish aren't a 100% drop rate from the pools.

After casting the net, one of three things can happen:

- You get a small number of fish. Pool disappears.
- You get no fish at all. Pool disappears.
- You get no fish at all, but instead a really angry shark spawns in and starts chewing on you. Pool disappears.

Also, there is a chance of getting a couple or so fish from killing the sharks and orcas in the water, so if you are having poor luck with the pools, kill a few of the beasties swimming around.

Not sure if anyone's come across this yet, but I'm having an issue with this. I've been doing this (and the other) tuskarr dailies for weeks now, but since 2 days ago it's been glitching for me. Instead of sparkling pools of Tasty Reef Fish randomly in the water, the mini map and regular map both highlight a small circle on the coast next to a regular pool of fish, and pulling up the full map and hovering over the highlighted area with a circled "1" reads "0/250 Tasty Reef Fish" - a sort of WTF moment; that's a lot of fish, especially when you can get away with using only a couple. The sharks are not dropping the fish either. (see screenshots). This ultimately makes the quest unable to be completed. Abandoning and re-acquiring the quest & exiting/restarting the game don't help at all. I've submitted the bugs in-game but no response yet. Not sure if it's from the patch as of Nov 1, but it's annoying.

I am not sure if anyone posted this method before or not. ( I did not go back and read all 147 previous posts on this thread. Oh well) I had trouble getting the fish i needed. I tried the kill sharks method. All I got was a lot of Chilled Meat and not one fish. I decided another tactic was required. I had some Nagrand Cherries and a Fish Bladder in my pack so I used a cherry (allows underwater breathing for 5 minutes, Fish Bladder allows 3 minutes) and used my Skate mount. If I looked up at the water's surface I could see the fish schools. I rode the mount close, used the net I was given and , voila, I had my fish. Completed the quest without any problems after that.

yep - to get fish - go to a bit west of cows and bulls, where the sharks are - go underwater so you can see the shoals that need netting get close and throw net - usually gets some fish (and sometimes a shark to fight)

I got 12 fish but only needed 6

go in water some way away from a bull and throw a fish (from your bag) - bull comes to where you were - back off towards the cows and throw another fish
- and so on (if too far away from bull it wont throw, but don't be wasteful and get too close!)

ok that was really ridiculous. u need to get reef cow from other side of island to this side , it makes love between 2 reef cow , so u need use that anuniaqs net to get some fish in open water (get at least 10) .with tasty reed fish u go otehr side of island (31 74) feed a reef cow and bring him to other island at (31 71) and it will be complete .

Beware of the sharks that swim around the fish pools and sometimes appear when using the net to fish. Currently their level seems to be scaling with your characters level. I was surprised that they were level 49 but all other mobs on the island were level 30.
