You are able to summon by acquiring a http://www.thottbot.com/index.cgi?i=52175 which allowed me to summon him instead of a random Duke. Applying the mats created a Crest of Beckoning: Fire(http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=20469).

I was only able to get the Duke of Cynders the first time with the crest. The times after have been other dukes spawning even though I still have the crest in my inventory with mats. Is there a special way to use the crest?

EDIT: Nevermind I got the wrong scroll in the mail. Crest of Beckoning are for Lesser Winstones. Signet of Beckoning are for regular Winstones(Dukes).

The hardest part is probably trying to get the Cinder of Cynders: You need to summon the NPC via doing long and grueling farming in silithus to get the items needed to summon him from his Wind Stone. =|

A lil tip for when trying to get Duke Cynder. to avoid having a grueling grind of twilight trappings, pick up the quest Abyssal Contacts from Cenarion Hold. Having this quest for me didnt despawn the shoulders unlike prior to obtaining the quest where the shoulders would despawn after each Lesser Wind summon.

After the 3rd summon it despawned my chest AND shoulders. But its still worthwhile to get as 3 summons is better than 1.

I'd advice anyone who wants to do this questline, to just jump into it. Had I known the sheer amount of travel and frustration I doubt I'd ever have started it.

So worth it in the end though.

I'd just wish it was more clear what you have to do in Silithus for that flame thing though.
Heres what you have to do (Three kings quest):

Go to silithus, farm Twilight cultist sets, when you're wearing a full set, you can click on a lesser wind stone, this burns some part(s) of your Twilight armor, but you get 1 Abyssal crest, you need to get 3 crests, once you have three, speak with the lady to the left of the Inn in Silithus, hand in 1 Large Brilliant Shard + 3 crests for a necklace. With this necklace + a full cultist set, you can click the Wind Stone - Which has a 20%~ chance of spawning the boss you want. I got my boss on the 5'th try, southern camp.

This part of the chain i hated the most, i'm already at 6 summons and still havnt seen the right boss.

Just finished doing this quest for my rogue set. Took 14 summons to get this guy. That is 52 sets of Twilight Cultist Gear. I still have 5 chest pieces, and 10 cowls in my bag from it as well. You better have an iron will to finish this quest...

Obtaining the Cinder of Cynders from the Duke of Cynders is easily the most annoying part of the entire D2 set quest line. Here's the entire frustrating process:

1. Obtain 4 sets of twilight cultist trappings.
2. Summon 3 templars from 3 Lesser Wind Stones.
3. They each drop an Abyssal Crest. Take those 3 to Aurel Goldleaf.
4. She will offer you the repeatable quest Medallion of Station. Combine the 3 Abyssal Crests with 1 large brilliant shard to receive the Twilight Cultist Medallion of Station.
5. Wearing the medallion with your fourth set of trappings, summon a duke from a regular Wind Stone.
6. Unless you have the Signet of Beckoning: Fire (see below), PRAY. You have a 25% chance of summoning the Duke of Cynders.

If the auction house is lacking in sets of clothing and you're forced to farm them off the Twilight Cultists, be sure to turn in the encrypted twilight texts (10 at a time) to Hermit Ortell to have a whopping 4% chance of getting the Scroll: Create Signet of Beckoning (Fire), from the bag of Decoded True Believer Clippings he sends you in the mail several hours later. If you should be so lucky, then you'll need to combine the scroll with 1 Dark Rune (drops in Scholomance) and 5 Firebloom to create the Signet of Beckoning: Fire.

Well, after 7 dukes summoned, and not a single Duke of Cynders appearance, I gave up. (For the record, that's 28 sets of twilight cultist trappings and 7 brilliant shards wasted.) 3 days later, the scroll to summon him popped up on the auction house for 5g!

So, lessons learned:
1. Check the AH several times a day for Abyssal Crests, trappings, and signets of beckoning. This will save you considerable time.
2. Ultimately you need luck, and lots of it, to get this guy. So I wish you the best of it.

Was really lucky and got it done after an half hour approx.
The set dropped very fast for me four times and got the Duke of Cynders at the first try on a Wind Stone.. :D

Duke of Cynders is the most time consuming part of this quest. Pray you are lucky enough to get sets to drop and then pray Cynders gets summoned. I had 8 water dukes summon out of 10 and still havent seen a Cynders. Feels bad man.
