The Heirloom is on the ground next to the bird nest. Far as I can tell it is unrelated to the spawning or killing of Daetan.

During the quest , If you go straight to the Large Duck Nest, and find Daetan Swiftploom's dead body next to it, that's not the Daetan you need. His location didn't appear on the map until I'd used the 오리 물약. You can then cancel the buff so you can fly.

You need to go back upstream, use the 오리 물약 again, and find him alive and sitting on a rock.

Only then can you go to the Large Duck Nest, use the 오리 물약 and pick up the 황금알 가보 to hand in to Zinnia Brooks to get your 오리 변장 도구 .

As of today, the colored disguise modules seem to be character-specific. I tried to get one each on alts, and then tested summoning the toy on the 6th character. Only 1 color module was available to it--the one that that one character had collected.

~~Hopefully this wasn't intended and will be fixed.~~ It was apparently indeed intended.

This is not a bug and the intention is that other colour variations are collected in future events.

So if you think this should be changed it would be through feedback/suggestions, rather than a bug report.

After you're a duck, wander up to about 33, 68 and Daetan will land back on the rocks in his spot and give you quest credit so that you can cancel your duck form and fly down to 30, 91 to the nest to find the heirloom. While you're there you can fight the boss too, but it's not required!

Beware he isn't killable unless you have the quest, but the daily that follows after isn't about fighting him.

So, if you've rescued the heirloom by not fighting him

Too bad we're so good at our class, no achieve for us!
No loot, no mount drop.

In any case, they made the punk villain a druid and it's making me so FURIOUS i'm about to have to start playing DH and Warrior again just to use up the rage. Grrrrrr

UPDATE:
The quest lets you turn into a duck and "find" him at a halfway point down the river.

The big fight to kill him is all the way at the river's outlet into the waters that split Elwynn from Duskwood.
The giant and I mean GIGANTIC egg someone finds upstream needs to be dragged to the nest "downstream" here.
When that egg arrives on the nest, the Foe shows up, has a tantrum, and the fight is on.

But all the quester needs is a much smaller gold egg ground spawn near the nest edge.

THERE IS NO WAY this is something you can figure out from the quest text.

EXTRA UPDATE:
Loot isn't direct from him, it's a drop-quest item for you 1x per day per toon.
Turn it in at the same soul who's hand-wringing about their lost decorations, and you get a (green) loot filled basket if you're below 60, (blue) loot filled basket with chance for mount or drakes-basket-toy if you're above 60.

Fight works if you're not on the quest, but I'm still not sure if folks not-on-the-quest can see the giant egg to drag.

To an outside observer and the enthusiasm of the holiday, it looks like about every 5 minutes or so we get to fight.

You can't get more than 1 out of the 6 looks. The 5 others would be collectible in "future events".

Since its not mentioned and i originally had trouble getting him to fly down, as a duck stand at /way 33.71, 70.79 (tomtom cords)
