Edit: People have reported Green to be doing very little damage in LFR, so you might want to prioritize Yellow over Green instead in LFR

Otherwise if you choose to bring only 1 tank, have the tank soak it and spamheal when it reaches more than 3 stacks. Healers must note that the DoT will last for another 10-15 seconds into the globule phase, and 8+ stacks of the DoT is very dangerous, if not deadly for the tank
Casters have to stand within at least 30 yards of the when it dies, to get their mana back 마나 확산
Using Raid Markers and having the Raid Leader coordinate by calling out what color to nuke can help a lot

Easily the meanest boss in the first wing in LFR. He still hits considerably hard, especially with yellow and red both up at the same time, so it's advisable to bust cooldowns if you get red and yellow, especially if you're a raid healer. I look forward to seeing how many green numbers will blind me later this week when I try the normal version!

Yellow/Red/Green seems to be the one combo that sucks. We downed this by always taking out the yellow unless we got this combo. We would take out the green one if we had Yellow/Red/Green.

YOR'SAHJ THE UNSLEEPING STRATEGY (10 MAN NORMAL)

This boss is pretty tricky, and requires your raid to be on your toes to adapt to which three colors he can summon. Not only that, your healers will need to be strong to handle rough AOE damage. For all phases, he casts Void Bolt, which will require tank switches. His main gimmick, though, is that he'll summon three different oozes of random colors at the edge of the room. They have about 1.8 million health and move pretty quickly, so you need all of your team on the one you plan to kill, and fast. After you kill one, the others become immune and give him special abilities, and it is managing which two he gets that makes the fight tricky.

Purple is easily the most dangerous. It turns every fifth heal into a massive explosion. Three of them happening at once will pretty much wipe the raid. While learning the fight, don't let purple reach him, as dealing with it is significantly more difficult than the others.

Which is second priority is debatable, but my raid chose Yellow except in one circumstance, which I will cover later. Doing all abilities twice as fast as well as making the Void Bolt do AOE damage makes it pretty hard to heal.

Third priority would be Green, because it is the only color that requires your raid to spread out, which clashes with the other colors which desire you to be close together. Having to spread out while be close leads to very hectic situations with easy wipes. Because it is the only color where you have to spread, Green can be chosen as second priority, with Yellow third, if your raid desires.

Neither Black, Red, or Blue are hard to deal with. If he gets Black, a bunch of adds with low health (250k on 10 man) will spawn and are easily AOE'd down since they don't hurt much. Red just forces you to be up close to the boss. Blue is the trickiest, it takes away about 80% of your mana, so be prepared to hit Arcane Torrent if you're a Blood Elf after he finishes draining your mana, or a Mana Gem if you're a mage (or both!). A Mana Void with roughly 3M or so health will spawn, and should be top priority to kill so healers regain their mana.

DANGEROUS COMBINATIONS

YELLOW, GREEN, RED
Now, I said that Yellow is second priority except in one circumstance. That is when you have Yellow, Green, AND Red up at once. Green and Red clash, forcing you to spread out while being close to the boss. This leads to bad times. For this, my raid chose to kill Green so we are able to stack up and AOE the hell out of everyone. This is easily the most dangerous combination, as Red hurts quite a bit, and Yellow pretty much doubles his damage output. Make sure you have one raid cooldown for this, because it hurts, and it lasts a long time before a new combination is spawned.

BLUE, GREEN
If you are left with Blue and Green after killing a higher priority orb, take note that it is even more important that the Mana Void dies faster. Green will force healers to drain their already small leftover mana for AOE heals. Stay spread out until you are close to killing the Mana Void, then have your mana users stack near it, then move apart IMMEDIATELY so another volley of Green damage bolts doesn't do an unnecessary amount of damage.

In any other combination, you can just stay bunched up together for everything, except if green's up, where you have to spread out.

IN SHORT

Tanks switch every 3-4 stacks.
If Purple ooze spawns, kill it!
Yellow is second priority, except if Green and Red are the other colors, then kill Green.
Green third priority.
Kill Mana Voids ASAP to restore healer mana, and be close together for AOE heals/add control, unless Green reached him, then you must spread out at least 4 yards.

EDIT 03/13/2012: Purple, Green, Red is not a valid combination in any instance, normal or heroic.

We handled this encounter with two healers and two tanks swapping out at 3 stacks.

Since our range had no issue taking out the designated ooze before reaching Yor'sahj., we kept both of our melee on the boss the entire time with the exception of burning the mana orb and AoE the adds down.

If you're either hitting the enrage timer or coming really close to it, consider leaving your melee (one or two in 10m) on the boss the whole time providing your range can handle the Ooze in time.

A raid should treat this fight the same as Cho'gall pre-nerf where you need to be efficient when it comes movement and DPS.

If you're new to raiding I recommend the set up of:

10 - Man
2 Tanks / 3 Healers / 5 DPS

25 - Man
2 Tanks / 6 Healers / 17 DPS

If you're experienced and have strong AOE Healers (Shamans and Druids) then I recommend the set up of:

10 - Man
1 Tank / 3 Healers / 6 DPS

25 - Man
2 Tanks / 6 Healers / 17 DPS

So the description for yellow says "Yor'sahj's Void Bolt now hits all nearby targets". That implies there's a limited range to the aoe void bolts, as in it should only hit people close to the main tank, but it seemed to just hit everybody in the raid. Can it be out ranged or is the tooltip incorrect?

Solo-tanked him, average item level 372, NOT IN LFR (actual 10-man mode), Blood DK.

It is hard, but possible. I had to because we needed more dps due to enrage timer (some of our group is a little undergeared).

Strat: Order is obviously Purple, Green, Yellow, except with Green -and- Red up; then we downed the green. I used Vampiric Blood every time we downed an ooze, and popped Dancing Rune Weapon nearly every time as well.

However, I had to prepare myself for certain situations. Most aren't a big deal, but if you have to take a Yellow Ooze, be prepared to blow CDs. Like Icebound Fort. That'd be the time to do it. Yellow hurts a -lot- as a solo tank. Also, if Blue comes, wait a bit before using Vampiric Blood (or another CD as another tank). Wait until healers are more distracted to use it.

For the DoT (Void Bolt), you normally don't have to worry too-too much. But on Yellow, you do. I used Anti-Magic Shell later on to ignore a bit of damage; it really helps. Make sure it'll last either until or almost until oozes are spawned again.

Hope this info helps! Very trying, but very fun!

Just did him on 10 player normal difficulty.

Although we lolzerged Mochrok quite easily, this boss was waay harder for our group. Here are some thoughts.

1) The boss has quite short enrage timer. Therefore you MUST burn him all the way through. Problem occurs when you get many blue or black phases and you have to concentrate on adds.

a) Black phase: Bring SV hunter/feral druid with you. Their cleaves are really hard hitting, so the adds are burned relatively quickly, and moreover, they can continue to dps the boss during aoe.

b) Blue phase: Whatever it takes, nuke Void ASAP. It does not only decrease healing due to lack of mana - mages and warlocks are also affected.You may even want to save short cds for this.

2) Yellow phases being a really hard time. In other words, yellow+blue (no mana to heal it through), yellow+green (raid too spread to heal through) and obviously yellow+purple have to be avoided. Sometimes prioritise killing yellow before purple. Example:

You've got yellow, purple and green. If you kill purple, you are screwed. With raid spread, healers have problems to keep everyone up with single target heals, while they also need to concentrate on tanks (yellow may be the hardest tank healing phase). Therefore, kill yellow. Green ae while everybody is spread is hard, but survivable. Just make sure your last heals (those who hit 3-4 stack) heal the target almost to top and let stack fade.

If you remember about those things, it may be a quite easy fight.

In LFR, it's actually easier to do purple > yellow > green

yellow+red seems to do a lot more damage than green+red, and you're stacking either way.

The main difference for heroic difficulty is that 4 oozes spawn rather than three, so you have to deal with three color combos (after killing one) instead of two.

Rogue here; after wiping a dozen times on this guy and finishing off the night with an awesome kill I feel like I know more about this guy than his mother (spawn point?) does. Here are some handy pointers for the individual raider, but especially for rogues since we're awesome like that.

Our raid comp was 1 tank (warrior, probably wasn't the best of plans but it worked eventually), 3 heals, rest dps. I think we probably would've done better with 2 tanks, but this worked anyways.

Start:
He's pretty harmless at the beginning before the 1st oozes pop out. Most of our healers were sitting on their deck chairs and drinking Mojitos. While they can. Pop a few minor CD's and trick to tank for a dps boost.

Oozes:
These aren't hard, but here are some handy tips to make yourself liked by the raid (as rogues, we need every bit of good rep we can get) and maximize dps.

- Approach: Use your sprint to reach the oozes. Gives you more time to figure out where you're supposed to be going (that room can dizzy you sometimes) and give you some precious moments of dps. That means not sprinting towards the boss at the beginning (I catch myself doing that a lot) because the first oozes appear before your sprint cd pops.

- General: 9 out of 10 times this encounter requires you to stack, which is great because that's what we do anyways. Don't forget to turn on range finder for the one time it doesn't though.
When the ooze dies, you have about 1 or 2 seconds to use up the combo points remaining before it is lost forever. Do use that, for Recuperate if nothing else.

- Black ooze: As combat, I haven't figured out whether FoK is worth it here. I've done both that and blade furry-ing in our runs, and there wasn't any conclusive evidence to use one or the other. Using BF + Adrenaline Rush does give some good dps though, and you'll need it to beat the timer. If you are using FoK, don't forget to poison it. Use tricks to direct aggro at tank and evasion if you're focused for that little extra damage reduction. If you have the tier 13 two piece you would be tricking anyways.

- Blue ooze: This ooze doesn't affect you directly, since we don't use mana, but you're a braver man than I am if the raid lead tells you to dps the mana void and you don't. Build 5 (4 if you're combat so you can Revealing Strike the last one) combo points on boss before redirecting gives you a cool little boost. With the void as well as the oozes, popping Killing Spree means you don't have to manually follow the target for its duration. Not necessary, but useful. Remind your healers that they don't get the mana back (but still lose the mana) if they stand more than 30 yards away from the void when it blows up. Having 1 healer OOM a minute into the fight because he was standing at 31 yards is wipe-inducing, not to mention very frustrating.

- Yellow ooze: This ooze does massive damage, especially in conjunction with the red one. Feint -> Recup -> Cloak of Shadows when feint is down -> feint again -> recup again if necessary. If you're Subtlety specced (but who is?), you can cloak twice here (I believe). Do it. Survival and healer mana conservation is more important that that extra point of dps. Doing this will win you friends, and a sloppy wet kiss from your healers, and with every rogue squeezing themselves into Dragon Soul normals for the pick pocket quest, you'll need every one that you can get. The friends, I mean. The kisses are nice too but uh...yeah. Friends. Remind your Protection Paladins that they should have a spell Divine Guardian which will reduce raid damage by 20% for 6 seconds. They should be using that for the yellow-red phase that always pops up.

- The remaining two oozes, red and green should pose little to no problem for you and your raid, unless paired with the yellow one. Stick close or spread as your raid lead commands.

- Heroism we saved for the red, green, yellow combo, since it was being problematic. Tanks pop your cooldowns and healers do the same to weather it out. This usually happens at the very end of the encounter, just to spite us. Save a strong cooldown for that.

Final Note:
In one try our group got Green, Red, Yellow combination (The one which wiped us a good six or seven times) when the boss was down to 5-10%. Our raid lead made a split second decision to ignore the oozes and just dps the boss. That did not end well for us. The three oozes basically one shot the entire raid when they hit the boss and we drowned in our tears while the boss gloated at us with 500k health left. Play it safe. We had fairly good dps (6 of us at 373+, top dps were consistently at 22k+, bottom at 17k) and the enrage timer never posed a problem.

Good luck, and spit on his corpse when you down him as revenge for the times he killed us.

Tl;DR: Use Feint. Use Recuperate. Use Feint. Use Cloak of Shadows. Use Feint. For the love of the Old Gods use your bloody Feint.

There are 6 possible slime combos you can get. These are the combos for heroic. You almost always want to kill yellow when it's up while green is next.

Purple, Red, Yellow, Black - Kill Yellow
Blue, Purple, Green, Yellow - Kill Yellow
Blue, Black, Purple, Yellow - Kill Yellow
Green, Red, Blue, Black - Kill Green
Green, Yellow, Black, Red - Kill Green (this is the raid killer - pop hero and CDs for this)
Purple, Green, Black, Blue - Kill Black (for extra boss DPS since you wont be on adds)

Heroic mode (10m, most of it will apply to 25 as well)

Possible Setups: 1 Tank 2 Healers, 1 Tank 3 Healers, 2 Tanks 2 Healers
I'd recommend 1 Tank 2 Healers or 2 Tanks 2 Healers as the third Healer does not really help a lot in the purple phases - and purple will be up in 66.6% (repeating, of course) of the cases.

As already mentioned, there are only six different combinations
Purple, Red, Yellow, Black - Kill Yellow (alternatively, kill purple if you have decent aoe heal cds left)
Blue, Purple, Green, Yellow - Kill Yellow
Blue, Black, Purple, Yellow - Kill Yellow
Green, Red, Blue, Black - Kill Green
Green, Yellow, Black, Red - Kill Green
Purple, Green, Black, Blue - Kill Green or Black

This leads to:
I) healing debuff, stand in melee range, adds
II) Mana Void, healing debuff, don't stand close to each other
III) Mana Void, Adds, more Tank damage plus AoE
IV) Mana Void, stand in melee range, adds
V) stand in melee range, adds, more Tank damage plus AoE
VI) becomes III) or II).

The mana void trick:
If your healers have superior mana regeneration cooldowns, you can choose to let the first Mana Void alive at 20-30% until the second one spawns and kill it right off, regaining your mana a lot faster and sparing one sphere. This is however quite risky at the beginning but pays off later.

Stuff we learned by wiping:
- "V" is the most massive damage phase and a good point for heroism if you don't need it to finish the boss
-Personal CDs matter a lot here, do anything you can to survive, the Healers will always be in stress by mana voids or healing debuffs
- When one-tanking you'll need a CD at the end of every phase (and a strong one for yellow)
- the adds DO have an aggro table, they are just immune to taunts and seem to reset their aggro table again and again. So using misdirect or tricks actually works for a short time.
- the boss does not have a minimum range for hunters, so if there is no green globule, come here and get a hug as well
- always kite the boss to the mana sphere. Green damage does not target melees as long as there are other targets available.
- the Mana Void is targetable and attackable in the air before it draws mana
- no matter what your healers will say in the beginning, purple IS healable, you just have to be on your toes.
- several "additional heals" do not create stacks on purple (e.g. Efflorescene, Word of Glory). Do NOT use Tranquility on purple unless you want to wipe very fast.
- Respec to AoE-heavy specs if you have the option (demonology warlocks, fire mages and combat rogues shine here)

Our learning curve was roughly like this: Wiping on every combination -> nearly wiping on every combination -> wiping on certain colors -> wiping on a certain color -> wiping by "stupid" mistakes -> not wiping.

These are my impressions of Yor'sahj 25 Heroic, killed in the 2nd week of heroic progression, with nerfed boss health and damage. Please excuse my bad english, i am no native speaker.

1. Oozes

There are four oozes you don't kill under normal circumstances:

BLUE: 슈마의 암청색 피 grants Yor'sahj the ability 마나 공허:
Use mana cooldowns on the first appearance and kill the orb every subsequent time.
RED: 슈마의 진홍색 피 grants Yor'sahj the ability :
Least frequent ooze (3 out of 6 combinations). Only comes with green and/or yellow and must therefore accepted everytime. Simply stack up on the boss and heal through.
PURPLE: 슈마의 그늘진 피 grants Yor'sahj the ability 깊은 타락:
Without green or yellow and only one remaining raid damage ooze buff (black or yellow) this debuff becomes quite dealable.
BLACK: 슈마의 검은 피 allows Yor'sahj to summon :
Most frequent ooze (5 out of 6 combinations). Must be handled constantly since both green or yellow are more dangerous considering raid damage combined with purple or red. However there are two combinations were black can be eliminated in order to strenghten the damage on the boss if your raid hits the enrage consistently. Doing so requires more raid healing and coordination.

On the other hand you usually want to avoid the following oozes:

GREEN: 슈마의 산성 피 grants Yor'sahj the ability 위산:
This requires your raid to spread around the boss. Considering movement and raid coordination issues in addition to the already existing damage and healing requirements i suggest you to completly avoid this ooze in 25m heroic mode. However there is one combination where you can accept green to skip one wave of adds if you can handle purple and blue at the same time. We kill this one in every possible combination.
YELLOW: 슈마의 눈부신 피 empowers and reduces cooldowns of additional abilities:
Greatly enhances raid damage in combination with green, red and/or black and is therefore considered second priority after green. Again there is one combination you can favor killing yellow over black for extra boss dps.

2. Combinations

As already mentioned, there exist only six different combinations out of 20:

Green, Black, Blue, Red: Kill green
Green, Black, Blue, Purple: Kill green or black for extra boss dps
Green, Black, Red, Yellow: By far the hardest combination. Kill green (germany), pop heroism + personal cooldowns, kill first add wave as fast as possible and spread dots (combustion etc.) into second one to increase damage on adds while running for the next ooze.
Green, Blue, Yellow, Purple: Kill green or yellow
Black, Blue, Yellow, Purple: Kill yellow or black for extra boss dps
Black, Red, Yellow, Purple: Kill yellow

Combinations 2 and 5 allow you to skip adds if you need more dps on the boss. Hope this can help your guild to adapt your tactic.

Note for Warlocks:

Normal mode it doesn't really matter which spec is used. The fight is easy and all specs are viable. Heroic mode is another story. Destro is not viable for this fight at all.

Destruction uses Rain of Fire as it's AoE but it's mana intensive. Normally that's not an issue but when you want to AoE you'll likely be at zero mana due to a mana void that just went off. Lifetapping more than once after a mana void isn't really an option due to the stress it puts onto the healers.

Really you have to be Demonology for this fight on heroic. Demonology is the most mana efficient of the specs and the extra mana will end up being transferred to the healers. Most importantly Hellfire is cheap to cast with a long cast time making it perfect for AoE at low mana.

Also, it seems as though they've remembered that Faceless-One-ese does have existing word definitions and grammatical structure, and they've actually applied this here ("oou" for example being "die", from Volazj's yammering). They've brought it some new ones too ("iilth" for "earth/world", and so forth) They're not just passing it all through a parser the way it's done in-game for dialogue in a language your PC doesn't speak.

Nice. Swanky. I approve. We need more conlangs that really work.

Yet another 10m heroic guide... :)

This is a quick cover of how my raid did the first kill and thought to give a few inputs for those looking for advice. It is by no means supposed to be the "best" way to do it, it merely was the best solution for OUR raid!

Setup
- 2 Tanks (warrior, druid)
- 2 Healers (shaman, priest)
- 6 DDs (2 hunter, mage, rogue, warlock, priest)

Tactics

Only the ranged DPS and the free tank nuked the blobs.
We always killed yellow when it was up. If it wasn't, then black, which saved dps and group damage at the same time.
Green+red doesn't hurt if the whole group positions as closely to the boss as possible while keeping 4 yards of each other (use a range radar). All melee and tank specs can stack on the main tanks' position because neither can be targetted by green. Also assign someone to stand in the center of the hitbox as an orientation point.
Dealing with blue: don't kill the first mana orb, only DPS it to about 30%, then leave it. When the next orb spawns, kill the previous one instantly. Repeat.
When purple is up, people should use defensive cooldowns. Be aware of what stacks up, and what doesn't, and be careful with things like lightwell.
Unless there is green only, the whole raid should position itself in the hitbox of the boss in order to have maximum DPS on the black adds. The hunter's multi shot, which targets the boss, will hit the adds if they stand right in the boss, same with other target-spread AE effects.
The boss was taunted at about 3 stacks which made the healer's job considerably easier. The free tank could also try to gain aggro from the black adds.

This is a comprehensive list that I have compiled for healing during 깊은 타락 in Heroic Mode , when the boss absorbs a . It seemed easier to compile this information rather than add it piecemeal to previous posts. It is organized by class (healing classes first), and each class section lists abilities giving NO stacks first, then 1 or more stacks; raid wipers are listed at the end of each section!

Keep in mind that all direct heals will add 1 stack of 깊은 타락. Direct heals are not listed below for that reason.

깊은 타락 lasts 25 seconds in Heroic Mode, and after those 25 seconds is reset and refreshed. This results in a total of two 25-second debuffs per phase where is absorbed. Adding stacks WILL NOT extend the timer; therefore if someone has 3 stacks with 5 seconds left (for example), those stacks will be wiped clean after 5 seconds even if he/she receives more heals before the debuff expires.

드루이드

무리의 우두머리 gives no stacks (Feral Spec).
야생의 방어 gives no stacks.
광포한 재생력 gives no stacks, even with 아이템 - 드루이드 T13 야생 4P 보너스 (광포한 재생력 및 쇄도).

Here's Flaskaholics killing him (instructional video) - back in December 2011, using this order of priority for deciding which Ooze to kill: Purple -- Green -- Yellow. No exceptions.
Raid setup on this particular kill: 1 feral tank || 2 heals (pala+shaman) || 3 melee || 4 ranged
10 man normal.

After wiping to this boss for a few weeks on heroic, my 10 man raid switched to a simplified strategy to down him.

Our kill priority is simple: yellow > green.

This means you will have to deal with red + green + black combinations, but it eliminates yellow + red + black which we found to be highly problematic. I have seen DTPS logs where YRB shows higher damage taken and much bigger damage spikes than RGB, however, and this can be true for your raid as long as you deal with it appropriately. Yellow and Black together means you get a second wave of adds that spawns just as a new set of oozes are spawning and we were simply unable to kill them before ranged had to switch to kill oozes, which meant we were tanking them for a lot of extra time and the damage just stacked up too much. This method eliminates that possibility entirely and leaves your DPS free to focus where they should.

This is probably not a viable strategy for 25 man raids, because it requires piling all melee underneath the boss and having range spread out 4 yards from each other while remaining as close to the boss as possible when you get that terrible RGB combination. We use a single tank and two healers and I off-heal as an elemental shaman when we get hit RGB.

It's possible but unlikely that you will get more than one RGB phase during a given encounter. We play the odds and pop everything to get through it and pray that if we get another one it's after sufficient time has passed to return some cooldowns.

Tips for making this successful:

You need as much magic mitigation on your tank as possible. A DK tank is ideal. A druid tank is the second choice because of their 4pc bonus for a massive AoE heal. Warriors and paladins are not ideal, but it can still work (Tol Barad trinket is very good for any tank on this encounter).
Your raid MUST get the positioning right. Green slime does not hit melee targets if there are ranged targets available, so have them stack in the center of the boss and position your ranged and healers in a close circle around the boss with 4 yards between everyone. Any available magical damage reduction for healers and DPS will also help.
It's pretty hard for 2 healers to keep up with the damage spikes, so don't be afraid to have a DPSer do some off-healing.
You will be dealing with a lot of purple and and black oozes. Your healers must have strict assignments and not violate them. You will need good cleaves and AoEs to drop the black adds wile maintaining DPS on the boss.

Raid makeup:
Tank: Paladin.
Healers: Druid and Priest.
DPS: Elemental Shaman, Survival Hunter, Arms Warrior, Shadow Priest, Unholy DK, Demonology Warlock, Combat Rogue.

Our pally tank was absent the first time we tried this strategy and the unholy DK tanked for it. A skilled DK tank can make a world of difference on this fight.

It's not possible to kill more than one slime. Once the first slime dies, the other slimes become immune to all attacks.

A tip: On green/blue, remember NOT to stack after the mana void is down. People instinctively stacking after downing the void wipes groups from splash damage.

For the Curious,This boss Enrages after 10 minutes of Combat.This Happens even in Raid Finder Difficult,perhaps to prevent boss fights being like Heigan the unclean,which became infamous due to the lack of an Enrage,so tanks and healer could survive his damage indefinitely if all DPS died in the dance and make the fight last more than 30 minutes.
Even if articles for boss fights like wowpedia(or a Boss's spell table,like morchok page) does not mention an enrage,you can guess there is always one since that amusing case in Wotlk.
